Steve Grindstaff Net Worth $10 million

Steve started off working at a young age, with the realization that he needed to work to help the family – he was only given hand-me-downs. He worked as a paperboy and lawnmower to get more money.

During high school, Grindstaff played football and this led him to get an athletic scholarship, to attend East Tennessee State University. While a student, he started working part time for Bunton Chevrolet, and showed a lot of talent for selling cars, so his net worth started to increase significantly. During his first month he sold 42 cars, so eventually he dropped out of the university with one semester remaining, to focus on selling cars full time.

As he continued with his success in the automotive industry, he also ventured into real estate, developing Woodstone Condominiums with Richard Booth and Rab Summers. Being the sole real estate agent in their partnership, he quickly became a $100 million real estate producer, and his net worth continued to build rapidly. With all the money he earned, he returned to Bunton Chevrolet in 1987 and purchased the company, then adding Chrysler, Plymouth, and Dodge in the next few years. In 1994 he added Jeep, and two years later would add KIA too; a lot of his cars are found in numerous listings online.

In 2011, Grindstaff found a bit of popularity when he put his 20,000 square foot mansion called “Crantzdorf Castle” up for sale – it came with an indoor tennis court, basketball court and go-kart track. It also contained nine bedrooms and had a 13 acre lakeside property. It was initially listed at $28.8 million but was sold for only $3.36 million.

For his personal life, Steve apparently remains single. He does philanthropic work, providing new uniforms and pre-game meals to the Elizabethon High School football team. He also started the Carter County Awards Banquet to offer meals to students and their families. The event also gives awards and scholarships to students with the highest GPAs. In an interview, he mentioned that he didn’t like talking about his charity work, but it has been covered by several local newspapers.
