Sharon Stone’s mother Dorothy worked as an accountant, and her father, Joseph William was a factory worker. Sharon was educated at Saegertown High School, but then after entering a beauty pageant while studying at Edinboro University, was persuaded to take-up modelling. So began her career as well as the accumulation of her net worth at 19 years of age, when by signing a contract with the Ford Modeling Agency she became the face of Clairol, Revlon and Diet Coke. Within a few years, Sharon switched to acting, and debuted on the big screen with a role in Woody Allen’s film called ‘Stardust Memories’ in 1980. Afterwards, she appeared in the films ‘Deadly Blessing’ directed by Wes Craven, ‘Les Uns et les Autres’ directed by Claude Lelouch, ‘Irreconcilable Differences’ directed by Charles Shyer, ‘King Solomon’s Mines’ directed by Joseph Logan Thompson, ‘Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold’ directed by Gary Nelson among other films, all adding steadily to her net worth.

In 1990 Sharon’s net worth was boosted sharply as she attracted everyone’s attention with ‘Total Recall’ directed by Paul Verhoeven and co-starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, the role which made the audience really take notice was Catherine Tramell’s character in the film ‘Basic Instinct’, also directed by Paul Verhoeven, with the box office grossing $352 million. Even though Sharon didn’t receive any significant nominations for this role, afterwards ‘People’ magazine included her in the list of 50 most beautiful people in the world, ‘Empire’ listed her in the 100 sexiest stars list, and she was inducted onto the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1995.

Furthermore, Stone’s net worth rose sharply in 1995 after she landed a role in the film ‘Casino’ directed by Martin Scorsese, in which she co-starred with Robert De Niro. This time she received high evaluation from critics, and won a Golden Globe Award for the Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama and a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress. Later, she successfully starred in films including ‘The Quick and the Dead’ directed by Sam Raimi, ‘Cold Creek Manor’,  ‘Catwoman’, the sequel  ‘Basic Instinct 2’ directed by Michael Caton-Jones, and ‘When A Man Falls in the Forest’ directed by Ryan Eslinger which has also added to the account of Sharon Stone’s net worth.

Sharon Stone has now appeared in over 60 films on the bug screen, over 20 TV films as well as several series, and has also voiced-over in several other films. She has been nominated almost 20 times for a variety of awards – not all complimentary – and has won seven.

In her personal life, Sharon Stone married TV producer Michael Greenburg in 1984, however, the couple divorced in 1990. Then Sharon was engaged twice, before marrying journalist Phil Bronstein in 1998, with whom she adopted a son, but they completed their divorce in 2004. Sharon subsequently adopted two more sons, although she remains officially single.

Sharon is known as a peace activists, particularly in the Middle East and Africa, and has contributed to the building of almost 30 schools around the continent.
