Who is Ryan Destiny?
Ryan Destiny Irons was born in Detroit, Michigan USA, on 8 January 1995 – her zodiac sign is Sagittarius, and she holds American nationality. She’s an actress, singer-songwriter and a social media star, who has appeared in close to 20 movies and TV series, perhaps known best for her portrayal of Alexandra Crane, one of the main characters in the musical drama series “Star”. It was created by Tom Donaghy and Lee Daniels, also starred Jude Demorest and Brittany O’Grady, and follows three women who have formed a musical group in Atlanta, Georgia; the series aired from 2016 to 2019, and was nominated for seven awards.

Early life, parents and education
Ryan was raised in Detroit by her father, who was one half of the R&B duo Guesss, and her mother about whom nothing’s known, as she prefers to be left out of media; because Ryan hasn’t mentioned having any siblings, it’s widely believed that she’s an only child.
She became interested in music at a very early age, mostly because of her father’s career. Ryan also became interested in acting when she was around eight years old, after having seen a play performed at a local theatre.
She studied at West Bloomfield High School, and was 15 years old when she launched her acting career, with her portrayal of Customer in a 2010 episode of the family musical comedy series “The Wannabes Starring Savvy”.
She matriculated in 2013, and then chose not to pursue a college degree, but to focus on singing and acting.
Career as a singer-songwriter
Ryan was 12 years old when she formed the musical trio New Limit with her two friends. The girls were managed by Ryan’s mother, and in 2010 made their way into the finals of the talent competition show “America’s Got Talent”, but then dropped out of the competition for unknown reasons.
In 2011, Ryan signed her first music contract with Universal Republic, but the trio New Limit split not long after that, and she then became a member of the group Love Dollhouse, and they signed a contract with All Def/Capitol Records. The group disbanded in 2015, not long after the release of their single “Can I”.
Ryan’s debut single “The Same” was released in 2018, and was followed by “Do You” in 2020.
Roles in TV series
In 2013, Ryan was cast to play April Geddes in the popular crime drama “Low Winter Sun”, created by Chris Mundy, and which starred Mark Strong, Lennie James and James Ransone. It follows the events which happened after the detective Frank Agnew kills a Detroit police officer.
Since 2020, Ryan has been playing Jillian in the comedy drama “Grown-ish”, created by Larry Wilmore and Kenya Barris, and which stars Yara Shahidi, Trevor Jackson and Francia Raisa.
It follows Zoey Johnson who has just begun attending college, and has to learn how to deal with relationships, sex and drugs; the series has been airing since 2018, and has been nominated for 29 awards, including a Primetime Emmy.
Ryan’s only other role in a TV series has been her portrayal of the main character Rebecca Cooper, in the 2021 mystery comedy drama “The Lower Bottoms”.

Ryan’s debut film appearance was in the 2014 music video “Big Sean: Paradise”. The following year saw her play the supporting character Grace, in the drama “A Girl Like Grace”. It was written and directed by Ty Hodges, starred Meagan Good, Raven-Symone and Garcelle Beauvais, and follows a 17-year-old girl who is being raised solely by her mother, and is being bullied at school, while she’s seeking help from her best friend.
In 2019 and 2020, Ryan appeared in three music videos: “Big Sean: Single Again”, “Justin Bieber Feat. Chance the Rapper: Holy” and “The World Is Yours Revolt Summit”.
Most recently, in 2021 she appeared in the music video “Doja Cat: Need to Know”.

Ryan and Keith could’ve been seen attending most of their red carpet events hand in hand, while they’ve also been seen dining together in a couple of restaurants in Los Angeles, California.
Ryan hasn’t mentioned any other boys whom she has perhaps dated, so as of November 2021, she’s in a relationship with Keith Powers, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
