Ron Gant Net Worth $20 Million

There is no public information in the media about Ron`s early life or education.

His career began in 1983, when he was drafted by the Atlanta Braves as the 100th overall pick; he wasn`t summoned up for the first team until 1987, and in the first season recorded 22 hits in 83 at bats, and two home runs. However, his second season was quite disappointing, and as a result he spent a year in minor league, and changed his position to outfielder. He returned to the first team in 1990 and batted .303 with 32 home runs and 84 RBI; thanks to a great season, Ron received the National League Comeback Player of the Year award. He also had thirty three stolen bases, and then repeated his success in 1991, with 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases, only the third player to accomplish such an achievement, alongside Willie Mays and Bobby Bonds, however, Barry Bonds later had three season with 30 home runs/30 stolen bases.

In 1994 he signed a new contract with the Atlanta Braves, which certainly increased his net worth, as the contract was regarded as one of the richest in the history of the franchise; unfortunately, Ron broke his leg in an ATV incident, and as a result, the Atlanta Braves released him. He then took a break from baseball to recover, and in 1995 signed a contract with the Cincinnati Reds, but after only one season he joined the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for them until 1998 when he became a part of the Philadelphia Phillies. His game numbers had begun to decline ever since he left the Braves however, and he couldn`t stay in one club for more than two seasons. From 2000 until 2003 he changed teams four times – Anaheim Angels, Colorado Rockies, and San Diego Padres, before he retired as a part of the Oakland Athletics.

Ron finished his career with .256 batting average, 321 home runs and 1008 RBIs.

Two years after retirement he was appointed as a color commentator for the Atlanta Braves on TBS. Nowadays, he is an analyst on SportSouth for the Atlanta Braves, and he also works on the MLB Network. Furthermore, as of 2012 he is a news anchor for Atlanta Fox, operated by the WAGA-TV, and also co-hosts “Good Day Atlanta”, which has also added a substantial amount to his net worth.

Regarding his personal life, Ron is married to Heather Campbell and they have two children.
