Paul Bevan Lieberstein was born in Westport, Connecticut, USA, on 22 February 1967 into a Jewish family. Stanley and Judith Lieberstein are his parents, and he has two siblings, Susanne and Warren. He started his career as a writer when his agent William Morris gave him a job in Hollywood to work on “Clarissa Explains It All,” an adolescent sitcom.
However, when he and his writing partner parted ways, they left the show after one season. He then had brief writing stints, such as the movie “Weird Science” and the television show “The Naked Truth.”
His career as a screenwriter blossomed when his brother-in-law asked him to co-write and co-produce the animated series “King of the Hill“, aired for 13 seasons from 1997 to 2010. In 2013, many viewers noticed Paul’s changes in body shape on the set of the last episodes of the show “The Office.” According to reports, he was experiencing dizziness and nausea on set, and was having chemotherapy at the New York Cancer Hospital.
