Who is Nichole Sakura?

Nichole is an American actress and model, probably best known to the world as Cheyenne in the TV series “Superstore” (2015-2021), among several other roles that she’s secured so far in her career.

Born Nichole Sakura O’Connor on 15 December 1989 under the Sagittarius zodiac sign, in Santa Clara County, California USA, she’s the daughter of Michael T. O’Connor and his wife Kinuko, and is of Irish and Japanese ancestry. She took Nichole Bloom as her stage name, a derivation of the Japanese name Sakura, which means ‘Cherry Blossom’.

She has loved acting from an early age, and during her teenage years she would imitate various voices, and at just 14 years old, she moved to Los Angeles in hopes of becoming a professional actress. She went to Santa Susana High School located in Simi Valley, after which Nichole enrolled at the University of Southern California where she studied theater, and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree after just three years, in 2010. Nichole appeared on screen for the first time in 2010 in the short film “Everyday”, then the same year in the short film “Special Delivery II”, written and directed by Diana Chao, and co-starring Alberto Marenco. She continued her career with yet another short film role, this time co-starring in the short romantic drama film “Carpool” (2011), alongside Morgan Pavey, Joey Millin and Andy Dulman. Nichole made her feature film debut in the following year, portraying JB’s Girl in the critically acclaimed comedy film “Project X”, directed by Nima Nourizadeh, and starring Thomas Mann, Oliver Cooper and Jonathan Daniel Brown.

The TV comedy series “Superstore”, follows a group of employees of a fictional big-box store in St. Louis, Missouri, where Nichole’s character Cheyenne is the floor supervisor, and one of the main characters. She’s starred in all but two episodes of the award-winning series, alongside other stars including Colton Dunn, Ben Feldman, Lauren Ash and Nico Santos, among others. Although Nichole didn’t receive any awards, she was praised for her performance, and became a proper comedy star.
