Mobb Deep is a hip-hop and rap duo consisting of Albert Johnson and Kejuan Muchita, better known as Prodigy and Havoc. The duo has been one of the more popular hip-hop artists during the 90s and early 2000s, selling numerous albums like “The Infamous” and “Hell on Earth”. These two albums are considered classics by the community and they’ve sold over three million copies of all of their music amounting to a significant net worth increase.

How rich is Mobb Deep? Sources estimate that their net worth is at $10 million. Nearly all of their wealth comes from their music, which they’ve been producing since they were teenagers. Even with a few missteps and failures, the duo has still managed to gain significant attention and profit from it.

Mobb Deep Net Worth $10 Million

Prodigy and Havoc first met in the High School of Art and Design in Manhattan. Both of them were natives of Queens, New York, born in 1974, and had similar backgrounds. Having a desire to share their experiences and music, they first took the name Poetical Prophets before becoming Mobb Deep and releasing their debut album “Juvenile Hell”. The album displayed a very gritty and violent take on rap detailing their experiences in New York. The album was not well received though their potential showed with each song, and they were soon signed by Loud Records and then worked on their second album “The Infamous”. This album put the duo on the map and established them in the hip-hop community. The most popular song on the album was “Shook Ones Pt. II”, and is considered one of the best songs during that era of rap and hip-hop. In 1996, they released their third album entitled “Hell on Earth”, which debuted at number six on the Billboard charts. Their next album “Murda Musik” experienced leaks on the internet resulting in delays, but when released it debuted in the number three spot on the Billboard charts and soon found its way into a platinum record. These releases produced a very solid start to the duo’s net worth.

In 2003 the group decided to split with Loud Records and was picked up by Jive Records. They released “Amerikaz Nightmare” in 2004, and the duo started experimenting with mixes of other music genres, however, the take on this new style of Mobb Deep was not well received and they were eventually dropped by the record company. Many believed that the two were out of touch and they faded a bit from memory. After a year of having no label they were picked up by 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records, and they released their latest album a year after entitled “Blood Money”., and the songs catapulted them back into the hip-hop scene. Mobb Deep has been in the business for around 20 years now, and their net worth continues to grow, although the duo is currently on hiatus.

Not much is known about the duo’s personal lives. The most that’s been put to media is the fact that Prodigy has sickle cell anemia and has been battling it for most of his life. He also served a three-year prison sentence(2008-11) for illegal possession of a firearm.
