Mike Lowell Net Worth $35 million

Mike attended Epiphany Catholic School in Miami, and then Christopher Columbus High School, where he was selected for the baseball team. However, he didn’t get enough playing time, which resulted in Lowell transferring to Coral Gables High School in his junior year. He finished his high school education with a GPA of 4.0, and was acknowledged for his baseball skills. Mike went on to enroll into Florida International University, and played in the baseball team in the Valley Baseball League, in the collegiate summer baseball league, and in 1994 in the Cape Cod Baseball League. As of the following year, he was drafted by the New York Yankees, but didn’t play until 1998, as he didn’t graduate – with a bachelor’s degree in Finance – until 1997.

Mike went on to make his MLB debut in 1998, playing in eight games that season, and although not taking part because of testicular cancer, received a World Series ring after the Yankees win.

He was then traded to the Florida Marlins in 1999, and during his first season scored 78 hits, 15 double hits and 12 home runs, with a batting average of .253. In 2001, he was the best third baseman in the team, and finished the season with 18 home runs and 100 RBI. However, his career was temporarily stopped when he suffered a broken hand from a pitch by Héctor Almonte in August 2003, and was unable to play in the next 32 games. However, he ended up with 105 RBI but was replaced by Miguel Cabrera. The Marlins won the 2003 World Series in 6 games against the New York Yankees, so Mike received another ring.. Mike fully recovered in 2004 and scored a career high .293 batting average. He went on to have less successful season in 2005, but despite that earned a Gold Glove Award. His net worth was still rising.

In 2006, Lowell was traded to the Boston Red Sox., and his performance improved in the 2007 season, which turned out to be one of the most successful for him, with 79 runs in 154 games and a career-high RBI of 120. In 2008 and 2009 he had troubles with hip labrum and as a result of that he was unable to play. He was traded into the Texas Rangers, but the deal was cancelled after they found out about his hip surgery. Mike remained with the Red Sox during the 2010 season, and played in 73 games with an RBI of 26. His salary was $12.5 million at that time. Lowell announced his retirement in 2010, having played in a career total of 1601 games.

Mike wrote his autobiography entitled ‘’ Deep Drive: A Long Journey to Finding the Champion Within’’, published in May 2008, which added somewhat to his net worth. He is now an analyst for the MLB Network.

In his personal life, Lowell married his high school girlfriend Bertica, and the couple has a daughter and a son. The family lives in Pinecrest, Florida.
