Liza Minnelli’s  parents also were famous people, not only in America – her father Vincente Minnelli was a film director, while her mother, Judy Garland, was very well known as a singer, actress and dancer. So there is no surprise that Liza also decided on a career in acting, singing, dancing and the arts. As a young girl she attended the High School of Performing Arts and also Chadwick School. Liza Minnelli’s first appearance in a movie was when she was only three years old, when she appeared in “In the Good Old Summertime”, which starred her mother. However, her professional career actually began in the theatre in 1963 , in an off-Broadway revival of the a popular musical “Best Foot Forward”, for which she won the Theatre World Award. The next year, her mother invited her to perform with her at the London Palladium.

Liza Minnelli really started to earn her own net worth in 1969, when she had a chance to appear in the famous “The Sterile Cuckoo” – this movie was nominated for numerous of awards and was extremely popular, so Liza’s net worth also increased immediately. One year after she starred in “Tell Me That You Love Me, Junie Moon”, but this film was not nearly as popular as “Cabaret”, which was released only two years later. For her appearance in “Cabaret” Liza won an Academy Award as the Best Actress and also BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award, David di Donatello Award and Sant Jordi Award , plus she earned $250,000, a considerable amount then, and a big boost to her net worth.

This was a real breakthrough for Liza, and that’s why her net worth started to increase substantially – she was invited to take part in many different movies, and she also started to work as a voice actress. For example, she voiced the girl Dorothy from the famous movie “Journey Back to Oz” – her mother had starred in the original which was directed by Hal Sutherland. There she starred together with many famous people in show business, such as Mel Blanc, Paul Lynde, Milton Berle, Paul Ford and Margaret Hamilton. Later she played in “Lucky Lady”, “Silent Movie:, “New York, New York”, “Arthur 2: On the Rocks” and “The Uh in Ohio”. She also appeared as a guest in Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour, so there is no doubt that Minnelli’s net worth definitely continued to increase over many years.

On TV, Liza Minnelli made one of her latest appearances as a guest in “Smash” – the musical drama TV series created by Theresa Rebeck and released in year 2013. Overall, Liza has appeared in more than 25 films, and a similar number of both TV fims, series and specials, and in stage productions, which have all contributed to Liza Minnelli’s net worth, thanks to her hard work and undoubted talent.

In her personal life, Liza Minnelli was first married to Australian entertainer Peter Allen 1967 – he had been her protégé, yet she didn’t know that he was gay. They divorced in 1974, and she immediately married producer and director Jack Haley Jr. – they divorced in 1979. Again Liza quickly remarried, to Mark Gero, a sculptor and stage manager: they divorced in 1992. After that she was married to concert promoter David Gest from 2002 until they divorced in 2007. Minnelli has also been in several other relationships, but has no children. Her quite public problems with periodic drug and alcohol addiction have certainly had an influence on her less-than private life.
