Lita Ford Net Worth $3 million

Born in London, England, to an English father and Italian mother, Ford moved to the United States with her family, and they set up home in Los Angeles. At the age of 11 years old, Lita began learning to play the guitar, and when Ford was 16, she was recruited into an all-girl band, “The Runaways”. Ford along with Sandy West, Jackie Fox, Joan Jett and Cherie Currie formed the band in 1975 with the help of Kim Fowley. The rock band immediately became a success, and the girls became stars in the underground world of rock ‘n’ roll. The fame the band generated helped Ford’s career to advance, and also her wealth.

Unfortunately, the band broke after only four years despite their success, as the members had varying opinions as to what type of music they wanted to produce and pursue, which eventually led to the break-up.

Ford decided to pursue a solo career, and in 1983 released her first solo album “Out for Blood”, but it didn’t perform well in the charts and was unsuccessful. The following year she released another album entitled “Dancin’ in the Edge” and this time the album received positive reaction from her fans, with the single from the album “Fire in My Blood” charting in several countries.

In 1988, she released her third, self-titled album, and it became a huge success. Her duet with Ozzy Osbourne – “Close My Eyes Forever” – became a chart-topper and remained one of her most memorable hits to date. The success of “Lita” helped her revive her solo career and tremendously increased her wealth.

Ford followed “Lita” with three more albums entitled “Stiletto”, “Dangerous Curves”, and “Black”, but none had the same success as her third album. After years in the music industry, she decided to take a break from her career to focus on her family, raising her two children.

In 2009, Ford came back after a long break with a new band around her, and released the album “Wicked Wonderland”. Ford also resumed touring, and collaborations with other former rock icons and in 2012 recorded another album “Live Like A Runaway”. Her comeback albums and tours revived her career and also increased her wealth.

In early 2016 she released a new album entitled “Time Capsule” and also a memoir “Living Like A Runaway”.

In terms of her personal life, Ford was married to guitarist Chris Holmes in the ’90s, but the marriage was short lived. In 1994 she married Jim Gillette, vocalist of band Nitro and they have two children, but the two went their separate ways in 2011.
