Who is Linden Ashby?

Linden Ashby is an American actor and martial artist, perhaps still best known to the world as Johnny Cage in the film “Mortal Kombat” (1995), but more recently in the TV series “Teen Wolf” (2011-2017) as Sheriff Noah Stilinski.

Born Clarence Linden Garnett Ashby III on 23 May 1960, in Atlantic Beach, Florida, USA, he’s the son of Clarence Linden Garnett Ashby Jr, a pharmaceuticals manufacturer, and Eleanor, a civic organizer.

He went to the private Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, after which he enrolled at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, but left college in his junior year to focus on acting, however, he eventually enrolled at Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City to study acting.

Career Beginnings

Linden launched his career in the mid- ’80s as Curtis Alden in the soap opera “Loving,” the second in the line of actors to portray the character. He left the series after five episodes, and his subsequent role was as Lance Reventlow in the television movie “Poor Little Rich Girl: The Barbara Hutton Story” (1987).

Before the decade ended, Linden appeared in several TV series, and in 1989 won the role of Officer Honeycutt in the TV series “The New Adam-12”, appearing in 16 episodes until 1991, then continued his career with the role of Ted in the television movie “The Perfect Bride”.

Linden’s hard work was rewarded in 1994 when he was selected for the part of Morgan Earp in the Academy Award-nominated biopic “Wyatt Earp”, starring Kevin Costner, Dennis Quaid and Gene Hackman.

Concurrently, in 2012 he joined the main cast of the TV series “Army Wives” as Dr. Dan Seaver, and since focused more on his work on the TV series “Teen Wolf”.
