The actress’s mother Tricia named her daughter Lark after the character in the movie “Cool Breeze”, played by Margaret Avery. Lark’s family moved to Pasadena, California when she was two years old, and Tricia immediately found her daughter a talent agent. Subsequently the girl appeared in the television commercial for the Universal Studios Tour when she was twelve years old. Then she has starred in the science fiction sitcom “Small Wonder” in 1988., and in the same year actress started to play the role of Lisa Turtle in “Good Morning, Miss Bliss”, which was later dropped by Disney, picked- up by NBC and renamed to “Saved by the Bell”. The sitcom lasted from 1988 to 1993, and considerably boosted Lark’s net worth.

Lark then starred in “Days of Our Lives” as single mom Wendy Reardon in 1993, and followed by appearing in many other TV series, such as “In the House”, in which she played a girlfriend of Alfonso Ribeiro’s character; and “Family matters” in which she appeared as Eddie’s dream girl. Actress has also played a portrayal of inter-fashion designer Jasmine in “The Bold and the Beautiful”, but it only lasted from 1995 to 1996 because she was required to act in sex scenes. Voorhies was released from her contract due to religious beliefs, since she’s a Jehovah’s Witness. However, the actress appeared in the series once again in 2004.

Voorhies not only stars in sitcoms but also in a movies and music videos. The actress played a main role as Lauren, a Harvard student in the movie “How High” in 2001. In 2008 she appeared in “The Next Hit”, which is a movie adaptation of the book The Black Man’s Guide to Understanding Black Women. Overall, Lark has been nominated for Young Artist Awards six times and won two of them.

Besides acting, Lark was a member of the music group called X-Girls in 1994 (that group is now known as Geneva). She was also a founder and a leading singer in the alternative group Third Degree.

More, Lark Voorhies is an author and publisher of three books: Reciprocity, Trek of the Cheshire, and A True Light.

In her personal life, Lark Voorhies was engaged to Martin Lawrence, but they broke up after Lawrence announced that he had become engaged to another woman during The Arsenio Hall Show in 1989. In 1996, the actress married Miguel Coleman, but they divorced eight years later. In 2008, Voorhies married Andy Prince and gave birth to her first and so far only one child, however the couple divorced in 2013, and in 2015 the actress married her third husband, Jimmy Green.
