Who is Kyle Gallner?
Kyle Steven Gallner was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania USA, on 22 October 1986 – his zodiac sign is Libra, and he holds American nationality. He’s an actor with close to 70 credits to his name, perhaps known best for his portrayal of Goat Winston, one of the main characters in the critically acclaimed 2014 biographical action movie “American Sniper”. Early life and education
Kyle was raised in West Chester alongside his two sisters and a brother, by their father Larry, and their mother Mary Jane Gallner; not a lot is known about his family, as Kyle respects their privacy.
He became interested in acting at a very early age, and was a member of his elementary school’s drama club, appearing in plays performed at the school as well as at a local theatre. Upon seeing how passionate Kyle was about acting, his parents began taking him to auditions, and he launched his acting career in 2000 aged 13, with his portrayal of Raleigh in the episode “Young Men and Fire” of the action crime series “Third Watch”.
A couple of his following roles were in the 2001 romantic comedy movie “Wet Hot American Summer”, the 2003 episode “Virtual Reality” of the family fantasy series “Touched by an Angel”, and the 2003 romantic family film “Red Betsy”.
Kyle continued acting throughout his entire education. He studied at West Chester East High School, and upon matriculating in 2004, he didn’t enroll at college, but chose to focus on his acting career.

Kyle gained recognition in 2005, when cast to play Headphone Kid’s Brother, in the hit thriller “Red Eye”, directed by Wes Craven, and which starred Rachel McAdams, Cillian Murphy and Brian Cox. It follows a woman who has been kidnapped during a flight, with her kidnapper threatening to kill her father, unless she helps him with a political assassination; the movie won two of the 11 awards for which it was nominated.

By the end of the 2000s, Kyle had appeared in a couple of other popular movies, such as the 2005 horror mystery drama “Danika”, the 2008 thriller drama “Red”, and the 2009 horror mystery drama “The Haunting in Connecticut”; he was also cast to play Colin Gray in the 2009 horror comedy “Jennifer’s Body”, which won three of the seven awards for which it was nominated.
In 2010, we saw Kyle star as Quentin Smith in the crime horror drama “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, directed by Samuel Bayer, and which also starred Jackie Earle Haley and Rooney Mara. It follows a man who’s murdering children in their dreams, and the film won two of the 13 awards for which it was nominated. The same year saw him play Sammy in the drama “Beautiful Boy”, and in 2011, Kyle was cast to appear in five movies, with the most popular amongst these having been the action crime horror “Red State”.
In 2014, he starred as Kurt Fletcher in the hit romantic comedy “Dear White People”, written and directed by Justin Simien, and which also starred Tyler James Williams and Tessa Thompson. It follows four black students who are attending an Ivy League university, and the movie won 13 of the 41 awards for which it was nominated.
Three of Kyle’s most recent movie roles have all been in 2020 – the musical comedy drama “Dinner in America”, the war horror thriller “Ghosts of War”, and the drama “The Catch”; he’s currently shooting for three upcoming movies, including the mystery horror thriller “Scream”.

In 2005 and 2006, Kyle played one of the supporting characters, Cassidy ‘Beaver’ Casablancas, in the mystery crime drama “Veronica Mars”, created by Rob Thomas, and which starred Kristen Bell, Jason Dohring and Enrico Colantoni.
It follows Veronica, whose best friend has been murdered, and her father fired as county Sheriff, while she has now dedicated her life to solving crimes in the city of Neptune; the series aired from 2004 to 2019, and won six of the 26 awards for which it was nominated. By the end of the 2000s, Kyle had made a guest appearance in an episode of numerous series, including the mystery crime drama “Cold Case”, the adventure drama “Skater Boys”, and the crime comedy drama “Bones”.
Between 2004 and 2010, Kyle played Bart Allen – aka Impulse – in four episodes of the hit romantic adventure drama “Smallville”, and in 2012, he portrayed Robbie, in eight episodes of the drama “Jan”.
In 2014, we saw him reprise Cassidy ‘Beaver’ Casablancas, in the comedy “Play It Again, Dick”, which also starred Ryan Hansen and Viet Nguyen, and follows the adventures of Dick Casablancas.

On 12 December 2015, Kyle exchanged vows with the American actress Tara Ferguson, who has appeared in seven movies and TV series, while she’s perhaps known best for her portrayal of Showgirl, in the 2011 romantic drama film “Water for Elephants”, which starred Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon, and won three of the 16 awards for which it was nominated.
In March 2013, Tara gave birth to their son Oliver Michael, and in November 2014, to their second son Leo Grey; Kyle and Tara prefer to keep their sons away from the media’s attention, as an attempt to have them lead a normal life.
Neither Kyle nor Tara have spoken of any other people whom they have perhaps been with, so as of October 2021, Kyle’s married to Tara Ferguson, and they have two sons.
Hobbies and interesting facts
Kyle’s best friend is the American singer and actor Jacob Allen Abel – the two were once in the band The Third Kind; Kyle attended Jacob’s wedding in 2013, while Jacob attended his wedding as well. Kyle is also good friends with the American actor Cristopher James Coy.
He’s quite active on Instagram, as he seems to be enjoying the attention which he’s receiving from his close to 50,000 followers.
