Ryan Gary Raddon, better known by his stage name Kaskade, was born on 25 February 1972, in Chicago, Illinois USA, and is a DJ, record producer and remixer, who rose to prominence during the revival of American progressive house in 2008–2009.

Kaskade grew up in Chicago suburbs, along with his brother, entrepreneur and film producer Rich Raddon. He attended Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois, and then briefly attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, before going on a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Japan from 1990 to 1992. After this, he moved to Salt Lake City and enrolled in the University of Utah, obtaining a degree in Communications. While at Utah, he also owned a record store called Mechanized Records.

With the emergence of house into the world of dance music in the ’90s, Kaskade found his niche and went on to establish his reputation as a local club DJ. In 2000 he moved to San Francisco, landing a job as an A&R assistant for Om Records, eventually becoming the label’s A&R director. During this time, he also began working on his own music, releasing his first single, “What I Say” in 2001. He then signed a three-album contract with Om Records, releasing his debut album, “It’s You, It’s Me” in 2003, which put him on the map. The second album entitled “In the Moment” followed in 2004, containing the hit singles “Steppin’ Out” and “Everything”. Kaskade’s 2006 album entitled “Love Mysterious” spawned hits such as “Be Still”, “Stars Align” and “Sorry”. His net worth started to rise.

The same year Kaskade signed with Ultra Records, releasing his fifth album, the 2008 “Strobelite Seduction”, his biggest commercial success. At this time he also began his collaboration with Canadian DJ Deadmau5, producing hits such as “Move for Me” and “I Remember”, finding success on the US, Canadian and UK dance charts. He went on to release the albums “Dynasty” in 2010, and then “Fire & Ice” in 2011 and “Atmosphere” in 2013, scoring numerous hits and significantly improving his status in the world of dance music, and his wealth. Forbes listed him as the No. 8 highest paid DJ in the world, earning $17 million in the year. Kaskade’s most recent album was the 2015 “Automatic”.

Aside from making his own music, Kaskade has collaborated and produced remixes for various artists, including stars like Lady Gaga and Beyoncé.

Throughout his music career, he has performed numerous headlining shows, such as Ultra Music Festival, Coachella Valley Music Festival and Electric Daisy Carnival, and has toured worldwide. He has earned a number of honors, such as being named America’s No. 1 DJ by DJ Times and Pioneer DJ.

Kaskade has also been involved in television, appearing as a guest star in the sketch comedy television show “Studio C”.

When it comes to his private life, Kaskade is married to Naomi Radoon, with whom he has three children.
