Who is Josephine Langford?
Josephine was born in Perth, Western Australia, on 18 August 1997 – her zodiac sign is Leo, and she holds Australian nationality. She’s an actress with close to 20 credits to her name, probably known best for her portrayal of the lead character Tessa Young, in the 2019 romantic series “After”, written and directed by Jenny Gage based on Anna Todd’s eponymous novel, and which also starred Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Khadijha Red Thunder. Early life and education
Josephine was raised in Applecross, Western Australia alongside her older sister Katherine by their father Stephen Langford, who’s working at the Royal Flying Doctor Service Western Operations as director of medical services, and their mother Elizabeth Green who’s a pediatrician. Josephine was mostly into music while growing up, and was nine when she began playing the saxophone; she eventually began taking piano and violin lessons as well. She was 10 when she wrote the song “Shadows”, and then performed it at a music competition, which won her an award for Song of the Year. Josephine also wrote the song “Lonely” in 2007, and “Sea Shanty” in 2008.
She completed her elementary school education in 2010, and enrolled at Perth Film School, from which she matriculated in 2016; Josephine then chose to pursue a career as an actress, rather than a college degree.

Josephine had made her debut film appearance in the 2013 short drama “Sex Ed”, and the following year saw her play Renae Armstrong in the short horror drama “Gypsy Blood”. In 2017, Josephine played Student in the fantasy horror drama “Pulse”, directed by Stevie Cruz-Martin, and which starred Caroline Brazier, Daniel Monks and Scott Lee. It follows a gay disabled teenager who has just been turned into a beautiful girl; the movie won one of the two awards for which it was nominated.

She made her debut appearance in 2017, playing Emma Webber in the episodes “Outback” and “Journey” of the adventure horror drama “Wolf Creek”; it starred John Jarratt, Lucy Fry and Dustin Clare, and follows the lives of targets of Australian serial killer Mick Taylor. The series aired in 2016 and 2017, and won one of the five awards for which it was nominated. In 2019, Josephine played Clair Singer in the episode “They Come Knocking” of the fantasy horror drama “Into the Dark”, which today stars Aurora Perrineau, Diane Sellers and Dylan Arnold – each episode is inspired by a holiday. The series has been airing since 2018, and has won one of the six awards for which it has been nominated.
Josephine’s most recent role in a TV series has been her portrayal of the lead characters Belle and Lucy in the 2020 adventure podcast “Day by Day”, written by Jamie Dolan and Adam Faze, and which also stars AnnaSophia Robb and Auli’I Cravalho. It’s been airing since 2020, and covers modern life.
