Salinas is a Mexican soap opera and film actor, best known to the world for such roles as Gabriel Quesada Barragan in the telenovela “Las Vias Del Amor” (2002-2003), and as Ignacio Lugo Navarro in the telenovela “Mariana De La Noche” (2003-2004), in addition to many other roles, he’s had so far in his career.

Jorge Salinas was born on 27 July 1968 in Mexico City, Mexico, the son of Maria Guadalupe Perez Ocana, while there is no information about his father, including his name and whether his parents were ever married. There’s also no information on whether he has siblings or not.

In regards to his education, after high school, he enrolled at Centro de Educacion Artistica (CEA) in 1990, and once he finished his studies there, he started pursuing his career.

He began his career in the early ‘90s with the role of Damian Souberville in the telenovela “Valeria y Maximiliano” (1991), then in the same year, he portrayed Roberto Herrera in five episodes of the telenovela “Cadenas De Amargura”, starring Diana Bracho, Daniela Castro and Aurora Molina.

The following year, Jorge portrayed Ernesto in nine episodes of the TV series “El Abuelo Y Yo”, which starred Jorge Martinez de Hoyos, Ludwika Paleta, and Marcelo Buquet.

Sebastian Mendez was his breakthrough role, as more major roles followed. He starred in the film “Sexo, Pudor y Lagrimas” (1999) as Miguel, co-starring Demian Bichir, and Susana Zabaleta.

He began the new millennium with the co-starring role in the Academy Award-nominated thriller-drama film “Amores Perros”, alongside Emilio Echevarria, Gael Garcia Bernal and Goya Toledo, directed by Alejandro G. Inarritu.

Jorge continued rather successfully into the 2010s. He began the decade with the film role as Jean Paul in the drama “La Otra Familia” (2011), written and directed by Gustavo Loza, about a seven-year-old boy who is adopted by his crack-addicted mother’s best friend and given to a gay pair to take care of him while she’s on a trip to Houston she can’t postpone.

The same year, Jorge appeared in the comedy film “Labios Rojos”, while he also got the role of Rogelio Montero, the main antagonist in the telenovela “La Que No Podia Amar”, co-starring Susana Gonzalez, Jose Ron, and Ana Brenda Contreras.

In 2012 he was chosen for the double role of Santos Martinez de la Garza / Jorge Alfredo Vargas, about a millionaire who takes on a new personality after being wrongfully accused of fraud and money laundering in the critically acclaimed telenovela “Que Bonito Amor”, co-starring Danna Garcia and Arturo Peniche.

In recent years, Jorge starred in the telenovela “SOS Me Estoy Enamorando” (2021) with Cesar Evora, Daniel Arenas and Iran Castillo, while in 2022, he was Victor Manuel in the telenovela “Amores Que Enganan”.

Furthermore, he reprised the role of Miguel in the sequel “Sexo, Pudor Y Lagrimas 2” (2022) and is set to star in the telenovela “Nuestros Pecados” alongside Erika Buenfil and Oka Giner, scheduled to premiere on 23 January 2023.
