Jonathan Adler Net Worth $2 Million

Jonathan spent his childhood in Bridgeton, and during a summer camp when he was 12 years old he discovered his interest in pottery. Since then, he hasn’t let go of his creativity when it comes to pottery and only developed further his talents. After finishing high school he enrolled at Brown University, but instead of taking classes at the university, devoted much of his time to making pottery items at the adjacent Rhode Island School of Design. Some of his efforts were inspired by Chanel including teapots, and urns inspired by Sevres, however, his teachers didn’t think much of his creations, advising him to put his dreams aside and study to become a lawyer instead, which of course he ignored.

So Jonathan continued to pursue his dreams, and in 1990 moved to New York City to become a teacher at Mud, Sweat ‘n’ Tears, and was granted a free studio space for his classes. After several creations were made, Jonathan began calling buyers from various outlets in New York including Barneys, and after receiving an order from the latter, Adler became a full-time professional production potter. This encouraged him to then found the Jonathan Adler Enterprises LLC, and five years later he opened his first store, located in SoHo, Manhattan. Since then, he has opened several other stores, and worked with over 1,000 other retailers.

Since the start of the 2000s, Jonathan has tried himself as an interior designer; back in 2004 he worked to redesign the Parker Palm Springs Hotel, Givenchy Spa property also in Palm Springs, and what was Merv Griffin’s Resort. In recent years he has worked on Abington House, then multiple apartment designs of Related Property, and in 2015 an overhaul of the rooms, hallways and outdoor areas at Eau Palm Beach, all of which have also increased his net worth.

Jonathan is now known for his television appearances too; back in 2007 and 2008 he was the judge on the Bravo’s show “Top Design”, further increasing his wealth.

Regarding his personal life, Jonathan is openly gay, and has been married to Simon Doonan since 2008. The two share an apartment in Greenwich Village, New York City, and they also have a house on Shelter Island.
