Personal Life

When Joe and Gina met fleetingly on the set of “Jane the Virgin” in 2016, neither imagined that their paths would cross once again six months later. “It was serendipitous”, Gina said of their second encounter, which took place in the gym, in a “Live With Kelly and Ryan” interview. After dating for a few months, both thespians thrilled their fans by making things Instagram official, with cute holiday snaps taken on the beaches of Thailand, and featuring adorable baby elephants. Just two weeks later, the couple celebrated their first Christmas together, with Gina boldly stating that the “greatest gift” was her boyfriend’s love.

In January 2017, the couple of the moment made their red-carpet debut at the SAG Awards, with Joe looking dashing in a blue suit and Gina donning a beautifully embroidered designer dress. They were definitely the talk of the night, with thousands of fans taking to social media to express their delight upon seeing them together. Defying critics and naysayers, the couple celebrated their first Valentine’s Day together shortly afterwards, with Gina sharing a romantic photograph captioned “I have known love but never have I known a love like this. You make my heart smile”. Other important events for the couple in 2017 included Joe and Gina’s birthdays, and an adventurous trip to Hawaii shortly after their one-year anniversary.

However, it wasn’t until July 2018 that things got serious, with the actress sparking engagement rumors after sharing a filtered snap for her 34th birthday in which she showed off an impressive diamond ring on her finger. The rumors were confirmed the very same day by US Weekly, and Gina gave an interview with People a week later, gushing over her soon-to-be spouse and confessing that they’d been engaged for a month, but had chosen to keep it a secret until the time was right. On 6th May 2019, Gina became Mrs Rodriguez-LoCicero in a stunning ceremony officiated by her “Jane the Virgin” co-star Justin Baldoni.

The actress was walked down the aisle by Joe’s brother Mike, and shared an adorable video with highlights from the big day, which included Joe’s heartfelt tears upon seeing her in a wedding dress. Sticking by Gina’s side through thick and thin, Joe proved himself to be the perfect spouse when his wife was embroiled in a racism scandal in October 2019, which saw her sing along to a The Fugees song which contained the n-word. The video, which she posted on her Instagram Stories, attracted an immediate backlash, with detractors calling for the actress to be “cancelled”.

After uploading a very public apology note including phrases such as “Whatever consequences I face for my actions today, none will be more hurtful than the personal remorse I feel”, Gina managed to smooth things over with the majority of the internet, while Joe offered his unconditional support throughout the incident.

Net Worth

As of 2022, Joe is said to be worth over $1 million, an impressive feat for someone with less than a decade in the acting industry. As for Gina, she’s reportedly worth close to $5 million, a fortune largely amassed thanks to her starring role in “Jane the Virgin”.
