He had one victory during his mid 20s, then won the PGA Championship in 1988 at the age of 30. Open, however, his best season was perhaps the 2002 when he won another Greater Milwaukee Open and took 15th place on the PGA Tour with the total of $1,250,187 in earnings.

In 2009, Jeff appeared in 25 events and had 10 top-10 finishes. In the following year, he played in 24 events, scoring seven top-10s with a total of 1,343 points. In 2011, Sluman won the Nature Valley First Tee Open, reportedly earning $240,000, and had 10 top-10s in that season, earning over $1.4 million in that year. In 2014, he took second place in the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, an in addition had sevn more top-10s. As of 2016, he took third place on three occasions, in the Allianz Championship, Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship and SAS Championship. In the most recent season, Jeff was in third place in the Chubb Classic event held in The TwinEagles Club, Talon Course.
