Who is Jason Behr?
Jason Behr was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota USA, on 30 December 1973 – his zodiac sign is Capricorn, and he holds American nationality. He’s an actor and a musician, with over 30 filming credits to his name, perhaps still known best for his portrayal of the lead character Max Evans, in the critically acclaimed science fiction mystery series “Roswell”, created by Jason Katims, and which also starred Shiri Appleby and Katherine Heigl. The series follows the lives of three half-human half-alien teenagers, aired from 1999 to 2002, and won two of the 26 awards for which it was nominated.

Early life and education
Jason was raised in Minneapolis alongside his sister Alisa and brothers Aaron, Johnny and Andrew, by their father David Behr, and their mother Patricia Ann Steiner; not a lot is known about his family, as he respects their privacy. Jason was eight years old when his parents divorced, and he moved with his mother and brothers to Richfield, Minnesota.
Jason studied at St. Richards Catholic Elementary, and during his eight years there appeared in various commercials for local stores. He continued his education at Richfield Senior High School, and was a member of the school’s drama club, appearing in most of the plays performed at the school; Jason was also into sports, and played both football and baseball.
Upon matriculating in 1992, he met Marvin Dauer, a Hollywood manager, who helped him launch his acting career, so Jason thus didn’t enroll at college.
Roles in TV series
Jason made his debut TV series appearance with his portrayal of Larry in the 1994 episode “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” of the romantic family comedy “Step by Step”. He gained recognition in the following year, when cast to play Tyler Baker, in the popular comedy “Sherman Oaks”. It was created by Chris Bearde, starred Heather Elizabeth Parkhurst, Tyler Bearde and Nick Toth, and follows the lives of a plastic surgeon and his family; the series aired from 1995 to 1997.
The following years saw Jason make a guest appearance in an episode of various popular series, such as the action crime drama “JAG”, the mystery crime drama “Profiler”, and the mystery drama “Cracker: Mind Over Murder”. In 1998, he was cast to star as Dempsey Easton in the sports drama “Push”, but which was cancelled after airing eight episodes, then in the same year Jason portrayed Chris Wolfe in six episodes of the romantic drama “Dawson’s Creek”.
He spent the next decade focused on appearing in movies, and his following TV series role was in the 2012 crime thriller drama “Breakout Kings”. He then took an eight-year break from acting, and returned in 2020, when invited to play Tripp Manes in the popular romantic science fiction drama “Roswell, New Mexico”. Jason made his debut film appearance in 1996, with his portrayal of Randy in the science fiction crime drama “Alien Nation: Millennium”, and a couple of his following roles were in the 1998 fantasy comedy drama “Pleasantville”, the 1999 mystery crime drama “Rites of Passage”, and the 2001 drama “The Shipping News”.
He gained recognition in 2006, with his portrayal of the lead characters Varek and Caleb Talbot, in the action fantasy horror “Skinwalkers”, directed by James Isaac, and which also starred Elias Koteas and Rhona Mitra; it follows two werewolf packs who are targeting a woman and her 12-year-old son. Some of Jason’s following appearances were in the 2006 fantasy crime drama “The Way”, the 2007 horror thriller drama “The Tattooist”, and the 2007 action fantasy drama “Dragon Wars: D-War”.
In 2008, he was cast to play Jack Frost in the popular romantic comedy drama “The Last International Playboy”, and he also played the lead character Eliott Gast, in the crime horror drama “Senseless”.

On 10 November 2006, Jason exchanged vows with KaDee Strickland, an American actress with close to 30 credits to her name, perhaps known best for her portrayal of Robin in the 2005 romantic comedy movie “Fever Pitch”. On 17 October 2013, KaDee gave birth to their son Atticus Elijah Behr, and on 8 July 2017 to their twin daughters – Emmeline Victoria and Caroline Matilda.
Prior to meeting KaDee, Jason dated the famous American actress and film producer Katherine Marie Heigl.
As of September 2021, Jason’s married to KaDee Strickland, and has three children with her.
Hobbies and other interests
Jason’s a dog-lover, and once had a pet-Dalmatian dog called Joplin, which had brown spots instead of black. Today he has a pet Akita dog called Ronin, which it can be seen featured in many of Jason’s Instagram pictures.
He’s highly interested in Japanese culture, and has been to Japan on multiple occasions. He’s fluent in Japanese, and it is this that connected him and his wife KaDee, as she’s also crazy about Japan.
Jason’s favorite band is The Beatles; he has stated that, if given an opportunity to choose, he would become a member of The Beatles, if they were still active of course.
His favorite book is “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak, which he read in his teenage years.
Jason has his own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio and Scarlett Johansson, and a couple of his favorite movies are “Saving Private Ryan”, “Titanic” and “Lost in Translation”.
