Who is Jamie-Lee O’Donnell?
Jamie-Lee O’Donnell was born in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, on 4 March 1992 – her zodiac sign is Pisces, and she holds British nationality. She’s an actress with 11 credits to her name, perhaps known best for her portrayal of one of the main characters, Michelle Mallon, in the comedy “Derry Girls”, created by Lisa McGee, and which today stars Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Louisa Harland and Nicola Coughlan. She became interested in acting while attending St Anne’s Primary School; after Jamie-Lee’s professor cast her to appear in a school play, she instantly fell in love with it nearly. She continued acting after she moved on to St Cecilia’s College (secondary school), while she was also interested in various other activities during her four years there, including playing soccer, dancing and learning to play the guitar.
Upon matriculating in 2010, Jamie-Lee enrolled at North West Regional College, and it was during her second year there that she launched her acting career, with her portrayal of the lead character Eva Maguire in all the 18 episodes of the drama series “6Degrees”.
The series aired from 2012 to 2015, also starred Ryan McParland and Cillian O’Sullivan, and follows the lives of six teenagers who are attending a university in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Jamie-Lee graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in drama in 2014, having studied and practiced acting at De Montfort University in Leicester, England.

Jamie-Lee made her debut film appearance in the 2015 drama “Urban & the Shed Crew”, written and directed by Candida Brady, and which starred Fraser Kelly, Richard Armitage and Anna Friel. It follows a former social worker who’s helping a gang of runaway children, and the movie won two awards.
In 2018, we saw her appear in the drama “I Told my Mum I was Going on an RE Trip”, written by Julia Samuels, directed by Lindy Heymann, and in which she starred alongside Emma Burns and Aizah Khan; the film follows the actress Julie Hesmondhalgh who has introduced a new theatre play, which concerns important issues, including abortion. In the same year, Jamie-Lee was cast to portray Fiona in the crime drama “Doing Money”, directed by Lynsey Miller, and which starred Anca Dumitra, Dragos Bucur and Turlough Convery. It follows the young Romanian woman Ana, who has been kidnapped and sold; the movie won nine of the 14 awards for which it was nominated.
Her two most recent roles in movies have been in the 2019 short drama “A Secret Journey”, and the 2020 short drama “The Fruit Fix”.
Jamie-Lee has just finished shooting for the upcoming historical romantic drama “Redeeming Love”, while she’s currently shooting for the upcoming horror “Unwelcome”, both set to be released in 2022.

Since early 2021, Jamie-Lee has been starring as Shelly O’Keith in the comedy “Unwanted”, created by Kyle Shevrin, and which also stars Lamorne Morris and Billy Magnussen. The series follows Ben and Grant who are trying to catch Shelly O’Keith, a convicted murderer who has escaped jail, as a reward of $1 million has been offered for his recapture.
