Who is Reginae Carter?

American actress and singer Reginae Carter was born in Atlanta, Georgia USA, on 29 November 1998, meaning that Sagittarius is her zodiac sign. She’s appeared in four movies and three TV series, and is perhaps known best for portraying the main character Ria in the 2022 drama movie “Boxed In”, directed by Ariel Julia Hairston, and which also starred Sean Freeman and Kirsten Grace Hoge. It follows successful boxer Ria whose dream is to become the best, at least it was until she moved in with her grandfather, and fell in love with a local boy.

She’s also known for being the daughter of famous American rapper Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. – aka Lil Wayne.

Reginae had a rather tough childhood, as her mother Toya Johnson was only 15 when she gave birth to her, while Lil Wayne was 16; the two married in 2004 when Reginae was five, but divorced the following year. She has three half-siblings: Cameron Carter, Dwayne Carter III and Neal Carter.

Reginae fell in love with both acting and singing at the age of eight, and her father paid for her acting lessons; she went on to study at a local high school, at which she was mostly into acting and dancing, and from which she matriculated in 2017.

Reginae continued her education at Clark Atlanta University, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2021.

Reginae’s debut film role was playing Lydia in the 2019 romantic comedy “Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta”, directed by Rhonda Baraka, and which starred Tiffany Hines, Juan Antonio and Raney Branch; it follows Reverend Bennet’s five daughters who are all single, and are all interested in Will Darcy, who’s just arrived in town.

The year 2019 also saw Reginae play Nicole in the popular comedy movie “Dear Santa, I Need a Date”, and her following role came in 2022, when she made her debut TV series appearance, playing a supporting character in the comedy “Social Society”, which follows the lives of several internet celebrities.

Reginae then starred as Renny in the 2022 short family movie “Renny (A Juneteenth Story)”, and the same year saw her star as Keisha in the popular thriller mini-series “Terror Lake Drive”, created by Jerry LaMothe and Kajuana S. Marie, and which also starred Michael Chenevert and Shannon Kane. It follows a single mother who’s moved to another city with her teenage child, trying to escape her past.

Reginae’s only other role has been playing Wendy in the 2022 episode “The Following of Angela Whitaker” of the thriller series “I Got a Story to Tell”, which starred Pooch Hall, Blue Kimble and Apryl Jones, and is a compilation of six stories about lust and love.

Reginae was featured in the 2009 musical documentary film “The Carter”.

American rapper Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. – aka Lil Wayne – was born in New Orleans, Louisiana USA, on 27 September 1982, making Libra his zodiac sign. Many people consider him to be one of the best rappers of all time; he’s been active in the music industry since he was 12, has released 13 albums and sold over 120 million albums worldwide, which makes him one of the best-selling artists of all time.

Lil Wayne was raised in Uptown New Orleans solely by his mother, as his parents divorced when he was two, and his father abandoned the family; his mother eventually married Reginald ‘Rabbit’ McDonald who was a good stepfather to Lil Wayne, and he’s revealed in an interview that he considers Rabbit to be his real father, and has a tattoo dedicated to him.
