Born in Dallas, Texas, Roden grew up with parents both in the medical field. As a young girl she was known to create one-woman plays to entertain her family, a proof that she had a passion for acting even as a young child. She attended the Hockaday School – an exclusive private school for girls – before moving to Los Angeles to get a college degree.

With her family’s influence in the medical field, Roden also pursued the same goal, taking up molecular biology at the University of California Los Angeles. It was in her time in Los Angeles that her passion for acting emerged. After spending a year in college, she decided to hire an agent to help her book acting gigs, so that she could enter the world of Hollywood.

Roden started out small, by participating in short films like “Consideration” and “Back at the Ranch”, but these small films led to better opportunities in movies and on television later, and her big break came when she became part of HBO’s show “12 Miles of Bad Road.” Although the show was cancelled, this became Roden’s ticket to more projects and it also helped start her net worth.

Soon more television appearances came, appearing in shows including “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”, “Lost”, “Cold Case”, “Pushed”, and “Weeds”. Her continuous appearances in various shows helped her rise to stardom, and also increased her wealth.

In 2009, Roden was able to land the lead role in the movie “Bring It On: Fight to the Finish”, after which she returned to television, and appeared in more shows including “Criminal Minds”, “The Event” and “Memphis Beat”, continuing the rise of her net worth.

After years of guest roles, finally in 2011 Roden was able to snag a role in a new television show on MTV entitled “Teen Wolf”, playing the character Lydia Martin in the teen drama that eventually became a fan favourite as the show catapulted to success. Today the show is continues going strongly, not only helping Roden become more well-known in Hollywood but also tremendously helping her net worth.

Aside from acting, Roden didn’t forget her dreams of finishing a degree in college. Despite being active in Hollywood, she also managed to graduate with a degree in women studies.

In terms of her personal life, Roden apparently still is single, with no rumours of romance in the air.
