Who is Greyston Holt? What is his age?

Born Greyston Stefancsik under the sign of Libra on 30 September 1985, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Greyston Holt is a 36-year old award-nominated Caucasian actor of Hungarian descent. He’s generally known to the world for his appearances in various super popular TV series, most notably “Supernatural”, “Riverdale”, “Bitten”, and “Durham County.” He’s also had a multitude of other successes throughout his generally remunerative acting career since 2004.

Early life: A jack of many trades

Holt was raised seemingly an only child on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia, by his drummer father Mike Stefancsik and mother Nancy (née Horvath). His maternal grandmother Anna Horvath left Hungary with her parents, and settled in Canada in 1927, while his paternal grandparents Mike and Edith did the same in 1957, moving to Lethbridge, Alberta. Greyston grew up with multiple big interests, including sports and music, but not acting.

He got into snowboarding very early, and started playing the guitar at age 13, which was helped by his father’s musical career. He joined multiple rock bands throughout teenage years, ultimately starting his own hardcore metal band at 19. He got into acting mid-way through high school, just for the sake of scoring extra credits. He soon realized that he thoroughly enjoyed the craft, and subsequently went down that path. Upon matriculating from an unspecified high school in 2003, he moved to Vancouver right away, to pursue his dream.

Career: A lucky find

Greyston’s first year in Vancouver went without any roles, but upon attending a model/talent convention there, he was noticed by filmmaker David DeCoteau. He was quickly given his first role in DeCoteau’s following film – as Dan in the 2004 horror entitled “The Sisterhood.” In 2005, he worked on David’s next project as well, portraying Greg in “Killer Bash.” After one part in 2006, his popularity went through the roof in 2007, when he realized six roles, most importantly that of Ray Prager Jr in six episodes of “Durham County”, in which he’d appear again in 2009 and 2010, totaling 18 episodes in the show, and 16 by the next decade.

He actually started the next decade strongly, with four parts in 2011, among which was Charlie in “The Killing Game.” In 2012 he portrayed Young Emerson Hauser in three episodes of “Alcatraz”, including the pilot, aside from four other roles. After six appearances in 2013, Holt landed his most significant role the following year, portraying Clayton Danvers, the lead male character in the drama fantasy horror TV series “Bitten”, in which he stayed throughout all 33 episodes for the next two years. 2014 is also when he appeared in the legendary “Supernatural”, and realized his most important film role as Isaac Shepherd in “Lonesome Dove Church”.

The last eight years

Holt also appeared in two other parts in 2015 – Car Washer #1 in the short film entitled “Give It Up”, and Daryl in the romance comedy “All of My Heart.” In 2016 he had another film role, playing Mikhail in two episodes of “No Tomorrow”, followed by two more in 2017. That year, he also portrayed Kyle in six episodes of “Somewhere Between”, and played five more in 2019, most notably Jay Ross in “Chesapeake Shores”, in which he stayed for 11 episodes until 2021, by which point he’d made five other appearances too. Finally, portraying Glen Scot in seven episodes of ultra-famous “Riverdale” is Greyston’s most recent success, with the part of Chris in “Lou” coming to the screen later. He has 59 credited roles by mid-2022.

Holt’s method acting

Holt apparently went to great lengths to prepare for the role of Clayton in “Bitten”, some of which is described in interview.com’s exclusive conversation with him, saying that since he’d read in the book that most werewolves simply get naked and run through the woods before changing into their beastly form, he pretty much tried the same thing. Greyston explained how he lived nearby lush Canadian wilderness, and how one day he ‘went up there to some trails and took a backpack up with me and my buddy’s dog. And I just left the trail and went an hour into the woods and stripped down and ran around and howled.’ He added that his friend’s dog was probably a little scared of the whole performance, while the actor claims he’s unsure whether it helped him or not, but that he had fun anyway.

Has he won any awards?

Greyston Holt hasn’t won any awards yet, but he’s been nominated for four significant ones, notably the 2015 Golden Maple Award in the Best Actor in a TV Series Broadcasted in the US category for his performance in “Bitten.” His most recent nomination is the 2021 Leo Award in the Best Lead Performance By A Male in a Television Movie category, for his portrayal of Max in the 2020 romantic comedy entitled “Cross Country Christmas”.

Love life: Greyston’s relationships

Holt has been dating fellow actress Cristina Rosato for a few years now – no previous relationships are unknown. They co-starred in “A Wedding to Remember” in 2021, but seem to have been dating earlier; according to the couple’s social media posts, they’re still happily together. Additionally, it looks like they’re starting a family together, since on 13 July 2022 they both posted a picture of Rosato in the shallows of Salt Spring Island, with a visibly progressed pregnancy. They apparently reside in Vancouver.
