Born in Brentwood, Essex, McCann is the daughter of Gilly and Simon McCann. Her career started out in beauty pageants, joining the Miss Essex pageant in 2012 and winning the competition, followed by participation in the Ms England competition, and making it to the top 15.

In 2013, McCann joined the reality show “The Only Way is Essex,” which follows a group of people saying unscripted lines in a structured way. She joined the show in its ninth series and stayed until its seventeenth series on 2016, making her a household name in Britain. The show helped elevated her career and tremendously increased her net worth.

McCann subsequently joined another reality show, entitled “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” in 2015 and in the fifteenth season of the show, arriving late alongside Vicky Pattison and Spencer Matthews. She made it to third place in the show, also helping in her wealth creation.

In 2016, McCann moved to a new path but stayed in television, this time as a showbiz reporter for the show “This Morning.” Although she took a break in 2017 from the show due to personal issues with her ex-boyfriend, Arthur Collins, she is now back and has resumed her post as the show’s showbiz reporter.

Additionally McCann also appeared in various other television shows, including “Celebs Go Dating” and “Up Late with Rylan.” She also starred in her own shows “Ferne and Vicky on the Road” and “Ferne McCann First Time Mum.”

In terms of her personal life, McCann previously dated Charlie Sims for six years, who was also her co-star in “The Only Way is Essex.” She also made waves when in April 2017, her boyfriend Arthur Collins was arrested and charged in connection with an acid attack event in a nightclub in London. She and Collins had a daughter together named Sunday, but the two are not dating any longer, partly because he was sentenced initially to 20 years in jail.
