Colson Baker, better known as Machine Gun Kelly was born on 22 April 1990, in Houston, Texas, USA. He’s a rapper, musician, and actor, recognized for his unique blend of hip-hop and alternative rock music.
MGK was born to Christian missionary parents, and spent most of his childhood moving around various cities in the US, and even to other countries including Egypt and Germany. His mother left the family when he was nine years old, so he was primarily raised by his father.
MGK’s love for music started at an early age, and he began rapping when he was only 14 years old. He attended Shaker Heights High School in Ohio, where he honed his craft and started performing at local clubs., and aged 16, MGK started to attract a following and began to make a name for himself in the local music scene. In 2009, he released his debut mixtape, “Stamp of Approval”, which garnered a lot of attention and helped him build a fan base.
In the following year, MGK signed with Bad Boy Records, owned by Sean “Diddy” Combs, releasing his second mixtape, “Lace Up” a few months later. The mixtape was a commercial success and helped MGK gain more recognition in the music industry.

Three years later, MGK released his third studio album, “Binge,” which debuted at #24 on the Billboard 200 chart. However, this period in his career was marked more by a feud with the rapper Eminem who criticized MGK in his album “Kamikaze”. In response, MGK released the diss track “Rap Devil”, a parody of Eminem’s chart-topping single “Rap God”. Eminem then responded with another diss track, “Killshot”.
