Born in Washington D.C., Rawlings spent most of his time growing up in Alexandria, Virginia living with his mother. During his younger years, he attended T.C. After training, he was sent to South Korea where he learned basic Korean, and later on also served at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington D.C.

After leaving the military, Rawlings’ found his calling and focused on comedy. One of his most outstanding roles to date was being part of the Comedy Central’s show “Chappelle’s Show”, for four years from 2003 to 2006, hosting alongside Charlie Murphy. Although he joined only in its third season, Rawlings’ still made a lasting impression on the show’s fans, and became known particularly for his favourite catchphrase “I’m rich, biaaaaatch!” and “son”.

During his time in the show, Rawlings also shared a bit of his talent speaking in Korean whenever he played a character in one of the show’s sketches. The “Chappelle’s Show” not only catapulted his career to new heights but also tremendously helped his net worth.

Aside from the Comedy Central show, Rawlings has also appeared in various television programs. He played the character of Damiel Lavelle ‘Day-Day’ Price in the show “The Wire” on HBO, and although it was a far cry from comedy, Rawlings was still able to give justice to his character as an ex-convict who became a driver/legislative aide for a corrupt senator.

Other shows that Rawlings’ appeared in have included “Reality Bites Back”, “D.L. Hughley Breaks the News”, and “Show in the Hallway”. These appearances also helped raise his wealth.

Aside from television, Rawlings is also known as a radio show host. He co-hosted the show “Big Tigger Morning Show” on WPGC 95.5, and also worked on “Egypt and Ashy in the Morning” in Power 105, and also did weekly appearance in New York’s Hot 97 Morning Show. All have added to his net worth.

Today, Rawlings is still active as an actor, appearing in shows like “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, “Criminal Intent”, “The Corner” and “Third Watch”. He also tours occasionally as a stand-up comedian, appearing recently at The Dubai Comedy Festival and Montreal Comedy Festival.
