Her colleague, Sean Duffy started the Ovarian Cancer Caucus alongside other ‘’Challenge’’ colleagues. Diem died of ovarian cancer on 14 November 2014. Shortly after her death, a dedicatee documentary movie entitled ‘’We Heart Diem’’ was released. The film contained archive footage from her life and had her colleagues and friends talk about her.
