David Bisbal Ferre was born on 5 June 1979, in Almeria, Spain, and is an actor, songwriter and singer, perhaps best known through being a runner-up on the reality television show “Operacion Triunfo”. He’s been active in the industry since 2001, and has released several studio albums. All of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

David grew up in a musically-inclined family; he loved to perform as a child though he had reservations about performing in public. He attended the institute IES Al-Andalus but dropped out of his final year to work in a municipal nursery. Later on, he would be discovered by the producer of Orchestra Expressions who invited him to become part of the orchestra. He was then encouraged by colleagues to try his hand in singing competitions.

In 2001, Bisbal joined the first ever edition of “Operacion Triunfo” which is the Spanish version of “Star Academy”. He became one of the 16 contestants and would reach the final, getting the runner up position behind Rosa Lopez. His success at the competition led him to join the “Eurovision Song Contest” in which he took second place again. Afterwards, Bisbal signed with Vale Music, and would work on his first album called “Corazon Latino”, which became very popular and sold over 900,000 copies in Spain, followed in 2002 byhis first tour of Latin America, all of which increased his net worth significantly.

In 2003 David decided to work on his second album “Buleria” which he released the following year, with the album reaching gold certification like his previous one. He also set foot in Germany for the first time on a concert tour along with Joana Zimmer. In 2006, he worked on the album “Premonicion”, which includes the single “Quien me iba a decir”; this album sold 900,000 copies as well, and partly for which he won an Ondas Award and a Microfono Award. In 2008, with Rihanna he performed a duet with the song “Hate That I Love You”, before working on his fourth studio album the following year, entitled “Sin Mirar Atras”, which produced one of his most successful singles “Esclavo de tus Besos”, with the song receiving double platinum certification in Spain.

His album would go on to get gold certification as well.

In 2011, Bisbal produced the theme song for “Herederos de una veganza”, the soap opera which was a highly rated telenovela in Argentina. He then scored triple platinum with his first acoustic DVD entitled “Una noche en el Teatro Real”, and continued to tour and perform during the next few years and also got a Latin Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Album for “Una Noche en el Teatro Real”. The following year he joined the reality show “La Voz” as a judge, and coached the eventual first series winner Rafa Blaz, followed in 2016 by appearing on the show “La Apuesta” as a mentor.

For his personal life, it is known that David was engaged to Elena Tablada but their relationship ended in 2011 after six years. They have a daughter. He also had a relationship with singer Chenoa, but is now in a relationship with Venezuelan actress Rosanna Zanetti.
