David Eric ‘Dave’ Grohl was born in Warren, Ohio USA, on 14 January 1969 – his zodiac sign is Capricorn, and he holds American nationality. He’s probably known best for having been the drummer of the rock band Nirvana.
Dave was raised in Warren alongside his sister Lisa, by their father James Harper Grohl who was a newswriter and who died in 2014, aged 76, and their mother Virginia Jean (nee Hanlon). Dave’s parents divorced when he was seven years old, and henceforth his mother took care of him.
He was 12 when he started to play the guitar, but disliked the classes he attended at a local music school, so started teaching himself. He was 13 when he was introduced to punk rock by his cousin, and was 14 when he attended his first concert (Naked Raygun in Chicago). Dave studied at Thomas Jefferson High School, but because he smoked marijuana every day with his friends there, his mother soon moved him to Bishop Ireton High School.
He was a member of a couple of bands during his teenage years, most notably of Dain Bramage, which he joined in December 1985; in March 1987, he joined Scream, and matriculated from high school in the same year. In 1990, the bassist Skeeter Thompson left Scream, which led to their disbandment.

She became interested in modelling while still attending a local elementary school, and signed her first contract while attending high school, after having been scouted by a modelling agent.
