Other than the fact that Cipha is of Puerto Rican ancestry, nothing is known about his roots and growing up.

His first steps in his radio career happened in 1996, when he was hired as an intern with Wildman Steve and DJ Riz, joining the Flip Squad, featuring Funkmaster Flex, Biz Marke, DJ Enuff, Mister Cee, Frankie Cutlass, and Mark Ronson among other DJs. Two years later they released an album, entitled “The Flip Squad All-Star DJs”, and then teamed up with DJ Riz to play with him at clubs as an opening. This proved worthy as he soon got a call from the rap artist Lil’ Kim, and toured with her through Europe and the US as well. When he returned, Chipa collaborated with Frankmaster Flex and his Big Dawg Pitbulls crew, and then started appearing on Frankmaster Flex’s evening show aired on Hot 97 station. Little by little, Cipha’s popularity rose, and he was given his own show on the Hot 97, entitled Cipha Saturdays. A while later he moved to Shade 45 channel, and became the host of the show “The Cipha Sounds Effect”, with co-hosts Angela Yee, Emoticon Farragut Foster, and DJ Wonder. The show lasted for four years, between 2004 and 2008, and then returned to Hot 97 to host the Chipa/Rosenberg Experience, alongside Peter Rosenberg. Prior to their conjoined enterprise, Chipa started the podcast entitled The Juan Epstein Podcast, aired on Shade 45. Little by little, their show grew in popularity which only increased Cipha’s net worth, however, his career on Hot 97 was finished in 2015, after several arguments with the station’s officials and Cipha’s statements. Nevertheless, he soon found new engagement, as he joined the ROC Nation, adding further to his net worth.

Apart from success on the radio, Cipha has also been recognized for his career on television; he served as DJ for the TV program “Chappelle’s Show” from 2003 to 2006, and then in 2006 he was hired as the host of the urban music video program “Direct Effect”, which would later be rebranded to “Sucker Free”.

Cipha is also an accomplished comedian, having his own stand-up comedy series “Don’t Get Gassed”, and has also started an improve show “Take It Personal”, which also added to his net worth.

As a businessman, Cipha started the Jack Move, Inc, artist management company, and has signed such R&B and hip/hop stars as Nina Sky,and Christina Millian, among others, while he is also a part of the Black Jays International, which is a record label, managed by rap artist Kardinal Offishall.

Regarding his personal life, little is known about Cipha’s life as he tends to keep his private details hidden from the public eyes; not even any rumours have emerged to interest the media.
