Chuck Connors Person was born on 28 June 1964 in Brantley, Alabama USA, and is best known as a former basketball player, and a basketball coach. During his career, he played for the San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers, among other teams.

Person attended Brantley High School in Brantley, Alabama, and having finished with his high school education, Chuck enrolled into Auburn University, where he played for the basketball team, becoming the most prolific player in the university’s history to this day. His field performance helped his team get into the NCAA Tournament three times, and in 1985, his team won the SEC Tournament resulting in Chuck being named the Tournament MVP. Besides that, he was a participant of the Elite Eight in 1986. Overall, when it comes to his college performance, Chuck is the all-time Auburn leader in scored points with 2,311 points in 126 games, plus he was a three-time First Team All-SEC selection.

In 1986, Chuch was selected the fourth pick by the Indiana Pacers, making his debut in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers. He earned the Rookie of the Year award for providing his team with notable performance, finished off his first NBA season playing in 82 games and scoring 635 field goals. His last season with the Indiana Pacers was 1991-92, in which he played in and started 81 games. After that, he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he remained for only two seasons, averaged a career-low of 11.6 points in 1993. He then joined the San Antonio Spurs, and in his debut season 1994-95, Person scored 317 field goals. Remaining with the team for two more seasons, he played in a total of 141 games, before being traded to the Charlotte Hornets.

By the end of the season, Person had scored the total of 303 points in 50 games. Having left the Hornets, he played with the Seattle SuperSonics in 37 games. He officially retired from playing in 2000.

Nevertheless, Chuck joined the Cleveland Cavaliers’ head coach, John Lucas, serving as an assistant for the 2000–01 NBA season. In 2007, he became an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings, then in 2009, he served in the same position for the Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson. He was interviewed by the Auburn team for possible employment, but despite positive feedback, didn’t get the job. However, he eventually got the job when he was hired by the Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl, being promoted to the position of the associate head coach in May 2015. As of today, he is one of the best known coaches and recruiters in the nation.

In his personal life, Chuck is married to Carmen Person, and has six children and eight grandchildren, and the couple resides in Redondo Beach. On 25 September 2017, Chuck was arrested and accused of six felonies, and as a result of that, was suspended by Auburn.
