Christopher ‘Christoph’ Sanders was born in Arden, North Carolina USA, on 21 April 1988 – his zodiac sign is Taurus, and he holds American nationality. He’s an actor, perhaps known best for playing Ned Banks in the popular NBC series “Ghost Whisperer”, as well as for playing Kyle Anderson in the sitcom “Last Man Standing”.
Early life and education
Christoph grew up in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Although he was homeschooled, he participated in many extracurricular activities as child; he played soccer and was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, where he achieved the highest rank of Eagle Scout.

He first became interested in acting at the age of nine, when his parents enrolled him for acting classes at the Flat Rock Playhouse theatre. After a few years, he was invited to join their YouTheater company, and gained membership to its elite conservatorship. He graduated from the conservatory program in 2006, and during his time there appeared in several productions of plays, including “A Christmas Carol”, “Bye, Bye Birdie” and “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”.
Growing up, Christoph didn’t know he would become a professional actor, and even considered engineering as a possible career. He took drafting classes at Blue Ridge Community College, and was later accepted at the University of North Carolina.
However, he eventually chose not to enroll there, and moved to Los Angeles, California instead, to pursue an acting career.
Roles in movies
Christoph made his film debut with a support role in the 2006 sports comedy “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby”, directed by Adam McKay, and which starred Will Ferrell, Sasha Baron Cohen and John C. Relly. In the following year, he appeared in the controversial musical drama “Hounddog”, in which his character raped a young girl, played by then 12 years old Dakota Fanning. He has revealed that he found the role to be very challenging, but he was glad that it gave him the opportunity to showcase the range of his acting ability.
In 2009, Christoph had a role in the direct-to-DVD comedy “Legally Blondes”, a spin-off from the popular “Legally Blonde” movie series. In the following year, he appeared in the award-winning drama “Lies in Plain Sight”, directed by Patricia Cardoso and based on the eponymous Israeli feature film.
More recently, we saw Christoph star alongside Jason Patric and Lou Diamond Phillips in the 2019 action western “Big Kill”. In 2020, he had a role in the comedy “Faith Ba$ed”, following the journey of two friends setting out to make a Christian themed movie, after they realized that the business of making these types of films is quite lucrative. The film was written and directed by Vincent Masciale, and starred Luke Barnett, Lance Reddick and Jason Alexander.
Roles in TV series
Christoph made his first TV series appearance in 2007, when he had a role in the pilot episode of the sitcom “Family of the Year”, but unfortunately the series wasn’t picked up by any network.
Between 2008 and 2010, he played the role of Ned Banks – previously played by Tyler Patrick Jones – in the fantasy drama “Ghost Whisperer”. The series was created by John Gray, and followed the life of Melinda Gordon – played by Jennifer Love Hewitt – who has the supernatural ability to communicate with ghosts. It won five awards, and was nominated for 25 others, including four Primetime Emmys.
Another notable role for Christoph was in the popular sitcom “Last Man Standing”, in which he played the character Kyle Anderson. It aired on ABC and Fox Network for nine seasons between 2011 and 2021, and starred Tim Allen as an executive at a sporting goods store chain, and father of three daughters. Despite receiving generally unfavorable reviews from the critics, it was one of the most watched sitcoms during its original run on ABC.
Other credits
Aside from acting, Christoph has also directed one episode from the last season of “Last Man Standing”, entitled “Love & Negotiations”.As of 2021, he’s working as the executive producer for the short sci-fi thriller “Body of the Mined”, written and directed by Eric Jungmann.
In 2019, he appeared alongside Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus in the music video for “Old Town Road”.
Love life and relationships
Since Christoph is known for portraying a gay character in “Last Man Standing”, a lot of the show’s fans assumed that he’s gay in real life too. However, considering his dating history, it’s safe to assume the rumors are false, even though he hasn’t commented on them yet.
Between 2011 and 2015, Christoph was in a relationship with the Israeli actress Inbar Lavi, who is perhaps known best to international audiences for playing the role of Eve in the popular TV series “Lucifer”.
Christoph and Inbar tried to keep their relationship out of the public eye in the beginning, but the rumors about them dating were finally confirmed in late 2011, when the two were seen spending time together on vacation in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Since then, he has been connected with a few of his fellow actresses, including Becky Rosso and Molly Ephraim.

Christoph is a very active person, who enjoys spending a lot of time in nature. When he isn’t busy with work, he likes to go on hiking trips with his friends, or find a nice place for camping.
He started surfing 14 years ago, during a summer vacation in Wilmington, North Carolina, and immediately fell in love with the sport. Although he now lives on the West Coast, he has said that Wilmington is still his favorite place to go.
Christoph likes watching comedy TV series in his spare time, with some of his all-time favorites being “The Office”, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, while his favorite actors are Steve Carell and Danny DeVito.
