From 2006-2012, she served as an Associate and Co-Executive Producer of “Dog Whisperer ‘,’ working in over eight seasons. When she divorced her husband, their previous Ilusion and Cesar Foundation changed its name to The Millan Foundation, which has now joined forces with Yale University to teach people how to take care of animals.

Ilusion was 17 years old when she spotted Cesar – who was 24 years old then – across an ice rink, and fell in love with him. However, a friend warned Cesar, who was living in a single-roomed apartment then, that dating an underage girl could land him in serious trouble. They had to end their affair, and Ilusion revealed during an interview that, ‘I came to the door and pressed the bell, and he said “I can’t see you anymore.” It killed me…’ However, their love didn’t die, and when she turned 18, they rekindled it but by ‘accident’ when she fell pregnant unexpectedly, prompting Cesar to propose to her.

They tied the knot and moved in together in Los Angeles, where they welcomed their child shortly afterwards.

One year after their child’s birth, Ilusion suffered a life-threatening gallbladder infection and had to be operated on. Her husband failed to visit her in hospital, and only going to see her long after her surgery. This made her very angry and she almost broke up with him – he apologized and agreed to go for counseling; a few years after they reconciled, they welcomed their second child.

Cesar Milan

Cesar Filipe Milan was born in Culiacan, Mexico, on 27 August 1969, and was raised on a farm where he developed a close relationship with canines – he had a nickname, El Perrero (the dog man) as he was growing up. When he attained the age of 21, he moved to the US and began working as a car cleaner before he was employed as a dog groomer.

His passion and determination soon started paying-off, when he founded the famous Pacific Point Canine Academy. He later founded the Los Angeles-based Dog Psychology Centre, before his involvement in the show “Dog Whisperer” in 2012.

In 2009, Cesar launched the magazine “Cesar’s Way”, addressing dog training techniques and guiding readers on how they can develop strong bonds with their pets. He also boasts of creating 2013’s documentary show “Leader of the Pack”, before making “Cesar 911” in the year that followed. He became an official US resident with permanent Resident Status in 2010. As of early 2022, Cesar is worth approximately $25 million, according to authoritative sources.

Divorce

For reasons that they kept private, Calvin’s parents’ union began failing, and 2010 saw his mother filing for divorce. Her husband was devastated when he learnt about her plans, and even attempted suicide in March that year, as sources reveal. The divorce was finalized two years later, the court ordering Cesar to pay her a one-time payout of $400,000, $23,000 spousal support per month, and $10,000 for child support. After their divorce, they agreed to raise their children with mutual understanding.

Shortly afterwards, Calvin’s father started seeing Jahira Dar, a skilled sales lady hailing from the Dominican Republic. Dar was born in 1985 so is about 16 years younger than Cesar – they became engaged six years after meeting.
