Who is Carlos Ballarta?
Carlos Sinuhe Martinez Vallarta, known better by his professional name Carlos Ballarta, was born in Mexico City, on 13 November 1990 – his zodiac sign is Scorpio, and he holds Mexican nationality. He’s an actor, film writer and comedian, who’s perhaps known best for having appeared in six episodes of the reality comedy show “LOL: Last One Laughing”. It’s been airing since 2018, stars Eugenio Derbez, Mauricio Barrientos and Alex Fernandez, and follows 10 comedians who are trying not to laugh; if they do, they’re eliminated. The show has been nominated for two awards.

Early life and education
Carlos was raised in Mexico City by his parents, about whom nothing’s known as he respects their privacy; it’s said that his father was a mailman, and that his mother was a cashier at a local supermarket. Because he hasn’t spoken of having any siblings, most people believe Carlos to be an only child.
He grew up being interested in numerous activities, but enjoyed playing video games with his friends the most. Carlos became interested in acting and comedy while attending a local high school, and often performed for his peers. Upon matriculating in 2008, he didn’t enroll at college, but chose to find work to financially support himself.
Career as a comedian
Carlos made his stand-up comedy debut in December 2012, when he performed at the Beer Hall bar in Mexico City. In 2013 and 2014, he took part in the comedy program STANDparados, and in 2014 was invited to perform in the TV show “Comedy Central Presents: Stand Up”; Carlos was invited again in 2015, and performed in two sketches.
He became popular in Mexico after he appeared in Rene Franco’s comedy show “It’s Night… and I’m Here”. It was around this time that Carlos chose his image, and hasn’t changed it since: he’s easily recognizable by his large white glasses and long brown hair.
He’s spoken about his image, stating that it’s a tribute to the late singer-songwriter and frontman of the band Nirvana ,Kurt Cobain, and that he needs glasses because he’s afraid of looking directly into the eyes of his audience.
Between 2014 and 2016, he was a member of the collective of stand-up comedians – 7 Machos – with other members having included Fran Hevia and Eduardo Talavera. Carlos is today one of the most successful Mexican stand-up comedians, as he’s succeeded in performing around the world, and has also started performing in English.
Three of his specials have been released on Netflix: “False Prophet”, “Furia Nera” and “El Amor es de Pvtos”.
He’s today co-hosting the Kcero Podcast, together with Coco Celis and Chavos Banda, and the podcast “Duques y Campesinos”. Carlos also has his own solo podcast “Status Qlo”.
His upcoming comedy special “God is Dead” has attracted a lot of attention because of its name.
Acting credits
Carlos has two acting credits. In 2016, he appeared in two episodes of the comedy series “Drunk History: El Lado Borroso De La Historia”, and in 2019, he starred as Tono in the short comedy movie “Muerto de Risa”; written and directed by Juan Manuel Ibarra, it also starred Fiona Munoz and Brandon Santini, and follows several people performing stand-up comedy.
Other credits
Carlos has three writing credits, as he’s written all three of his TV specials: “El Amor es de Putos” in 2016, “Furia Nera” in 2018, and “False Prophet” in 2021.
He’s made a guest appearance in various talk-shows, such as “La Resistencia”, “La Maroma Estelar” and “Noches con Platanito”.
YouTube channel
Carlos launched his self-titled YouTube channel on 19 February 2015, and it’s today subscribed to by more than 300,000 people, and numbers over 20 million views of all his videos combined. Most of these feature him performing stand-up comedy, and we’re going to mention three of the most popular amongst these.
Carlos’ #1 video “ASÍ ESTÁ EL PEDO ‘López Obrador’” has been viewed over 2.5 million times since 27 May 2019, and features him telling jokes about the president of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
His second most popular video “ASÍ ESTÁ EL PEDO ‘Trabajadoras del Hogar” has been watched more than 1.5 million times since 3 June 2019, and shows Carlos telling jokes about domestic workers.
His #3 video “ASÍ ESTÁ EL PEDO ‘La Conquista’” has been viewed close to a million times, and features him joking about some of the most important conquests in history.
Love life and wife
Carlos prefers to keep the details of his love life to himself, but it’s still widely known that he’s today married to the Mexican make-up artist Karla Ornelas. The two apparently met in the first half of the 2010s, and married after having been together for around a year.
They have two children together, but nothing about them is known, as Carlos and Karla prefer to keep them away from the media’s attention.
The family of four today resides in Mexico City.
Neither Carlos nor Karla have spoken of any other people whom they have perhaps been with, so as of February 2022, Carlos is married to Karla Ornelas, and they have two children together.
Hobbies and other interests
Carlos is highly active on his Instagram account, and is today followed by more than 500,000 people, while he’s uploaded over 600 pictures and videos onto the network; most taken during his stand-up performances.
He’s passionate about travelling, and his career has taken him to various US states and European and Asian countries, while his dream travel destination is Miami in Florida.
He’s a fan of tattoos, and his entire right arm is inked, while he also has another on his back.
Carlos is a dog-lover, and has two pet dogs.
He likes to watch Hollywood movies in his spare time – his favorite actor and actress are the late Heath Ledger and Anne Hathaway, while a couple of his favorite films include “The Dark Knight”, “V for Vendetta” and “Leon: The Professional”.

Carlos’ age is 31. He has long brown hair and brown eyes, his height is 5ft 7ins (1.7m) and he weighs around 175lbs (80kgs).
