Early life and education
Brett Gray was born under the zodiac sign of Capricorn on 13 January 1996, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, thus he holds American nationality, and comes from a family of African-American descent.
He was raised in his hometown by his parents Holly and Jeffrey Gray, alongside his brother whose name he hasn’t shared, but it’s known that he served in the US Navy. Brett respects his family’s privacy, thus there isn’t much info regarding them.
Brett showed a big interest in acting from an early age, and began appearing in school plays when he was six, then had his first professional role at the Academy of Music when he was just seven years old. Brett added that he got the class clown superlative in the yearbook, because he would be singing and dancing through hallways, telling jokes, and acting crazy.
Roles in movies
Brett made his acting debut portraying Mezzy in the short movie “Tortoise” in 2015, and then in the following year he was seen as Greg in “The Tale of Four”, followed by his role as Henry in another short movie, entitled “Metrocard”.
Next, Brett was cast in the 2016 movie “Ardmore Junction”, a comedy-drama also starring Amy Frear and Brian Gallagher, and then he was cast to play Brian in the 2018 short movie “Afterparty”, which was his most recent movie role.
Roles in series
Brett made his first television appearance as Reggie Price in an episode of the popular crime drama “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” in 2018, before he was cast to play his most notable role to date, as Jamal Turner in “On My Block” which was broadcast until 2021.
Brett said about his role as Jamal that it was ‘just so much fun to play’ adding: ‘It’s been awesome to go to work and play and remove the ego for a second and just kind of dive into this incredible character. But also working with the cast — they’ve really become like a second family to me.’
Concurrently, Brett was seen playing his role as Dancer in “Rise” in 2018, and as Aiden West in “Chicago P.D.” in 2019, and in the same year he made an appearance as Clarence in an episode of the TV mini-series “When They See Us”, which had 78 award nominations and won 30, including two Primetime Emmys.
In 2021, Brett was cast to play Evan in “Dramaworld”, followed by his guest role as Jeremy in an episode of the series “The Ghost and Molly McGee”, and then from 2021 through 2022, he was heard as Dal, one of the main characters in the animated series “Star Trek: Prodigy”, also starring Dee Bradley Baker and Rylee Alazraqui.

Love life and relationships
There have been various rumors concerning both Brett’s love life and his sexual orientation, and in 2021, some rumors were saying that he is in a relationship with the popular American rapper Bri Steves, who is perhaps known best for her songs “Jealousy” and “ANTI QUEEN”, however, neither she nor Brett confirmed these assumptions.
Brett is quite secretive when it comes to his personal matters, however, in one of his interviews, he shared that he is romantic, and about his ideal first date he said: ‘I would love to do something where we both are kind of on our toes and we get to really share an experience together.’
He also shared that one of the romantic things that he’s done for his ex-girlfriend (whose name he hasn’t revealed) was that he would put her towels in the dryer before she finished showering, and so the warm towels would wait for her, and according to him, she loved that. He also said that he would love to have someone who would do nice things for him.
