Boris Johnson spent his childhood with three siblings, his father, Stanley Johnson, who is also a politician and author, and his mother, Charlotte Johnson Wahl, an artist; he is the grandson of Turkish journalist Ali Kemal. When he was a baby, the family moved to England, and Boris attended a preparatory boarding school, Ashdown House in East Sussex, where he earned a King’s Scholarship to study at Eton College. While there, he started writing for the students’ newspaper, and became the editor. He then received a scholarship to study at Balliol College, Oxford, from which he graduated with an upper second-class degree in Ancient Literature and Classical Philosophy.

Before he became a politician, Boris was a journalist. He worked as assistant editor from 1994 until 1999, when he left the newspaper and joined “The Spectator” magazine. Most recently, he has championed the cause of the UK leaving the European Union, which was carried by referendum in June 2016.

Apart from his political career, Boris is also recognized as an author, publishing 11 books so far, including “Friends, Voters, Countrymen” (2001), “Seventy-Two Virgins” (2004), “The Dream Of Rome” (2006), “The Perils Of The Pushy Parents: A Cautionary Tale” (2007), and his latest book “The Churchill Factor” (2014), which have also added a lot to his overall net worth.
