Becoming a celebrity just by being the wife of a famous actor it seems was not enough for the writer Asake Bomani. Although people mostly recognize her as the ex-wife of Danny Glover, she is also known as a renowned author of the book “Paris Connections: African American & Caribbean Artists in Paris”, which brought her an American Book Award in 1993.
She was born under the zodiac sign of Cancer on 7 July 1945, in the USA; her exact birthplace hasn’t been revealed, but Asake holds American nationality and her ethnicity is African-American. They were attending the same college, and in an interview for Independent, he said: ‘I couldn’t get too many words out. Put me in front of a microphone and you’d get more words out of me.
But I was just blown away by this woman’. Danny waited for her in front of her classroom, and he just said ‘Hi, how are you’, and walked away.
For days, he repeated the same scenario, until one day he was brave enough to call her on a date; they started dating in the early ‘70s, and Asake was the one who supported him the most in his dream to become an actor. Soon after they married in 1975, Danny joined the Black Actors’ Workshop of the American Conservatory Theatre.
The two have one daughter together, Mandisa Glover born on 5 January 1976, who is today a renowned filmmaker.
After nearly 25 years of marriage, on 4 February 1999, Danny filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences, and the divorce was finalized in 2000.

Who is Danny Glover?
A producer, director, humanitarian, and actor with over 200 credits to his name, who is still perhaps known best for his role as Roger Murtaugh in the “Lethal Weapon” film series, Danny Lebern Glover, was born under the zodiac sign of Cancer on 22 July 1946, in San Francisco, California USA; he holds American nationality and his ethnicity is African-American.
He was raised as the only child of postal workers, and an activist in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), James and Carrie Glover. Danny attended a local high school, and upon matriculating in 1964, enrolled at San Francisco State University but didn’t graduate.
He started attending acting classes at the Black Actor’s Workshop, however, he was later awarded the Presidential Medal of San Francisco State University for his tribute to education.
Danny made his acting debut in 1979, portraying TV reporter in the series “B. J. and the Bear”, followed by his role as an Inmate in the biographic crime action “Escape from Alcatraz”, also starring Clint Eastwood, Roberts Blossom and Patrick McGoohan – the movie was based on the book of the same title by J. Campbell Bruce.
