Andrew Michael Bogut, born on the 28th of November 1984, is an Australian basketball player who became famous when playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for teams including the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Bogut is the son of Michael and Anne Bogut who are Croatians who moved to Melbourne in the ‘70’s. Inspired by his idol, Croatian basketball player Toni Kukoč, Bogut started playing basketball in is teens and patterned his playing style on him.
Bogut continued playing basketball in high school, and eventually got into the Australian Institute of Sport. This exposed him to the international playing scene, having toured in the United States.
