Alex Gorsky was born on 24 May 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri USA, the descendent of migrants from Russia and what is now Croatia. He is best known as a business manager, and being the CEO of Johnson & Johnson, the largest pharmaceutical company in the world, and 10th most profitable company in the world of all industries – over $16 billion profit in 2014-15. Alex assumed this role in 2012.

In his personal life, Alex Gorsky has been married to Patricia since 1987, and they have a son. Alex is a former marathon runner and tri-athlete, with other passions including his family, and American and English literature. He has bee involved in several philanthropic interests, including the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the National Alliance on Aging, Doylestown Hospital Board, and the Boy Scouts of America.
