Who is YNW BSlime?
Young rapper Brandon King is better known by his stage name YNW BSlime (YNW stands for Young Nigga World), and came into the limelight after releasing his first single “Hot Sauce” in 2019. He soon reached over 100,000 followers on Instagram, and overnight became one of the favorite young freestylers.
In his interview for raptv.com, he spoke about his stage name, saying: ‘My name is Brandon, so my nickname has pretty much as always just been “B”. Then one day I was hanging out with my brother and his friend, and he just started adding “slime” to the end of it,’ saying that he thought that it’s funny and the name just stuck.
Family and education
YNW BSlime is the younger brother of the rapper and singer Jamell Maurice Demons, known as YNW Melly, who is perhaps known best for his collaboration songs with Kanye West (“Mixed Personalities”) and Juice Wrld (“Suicidal”).
YNW Melly was at the top of his career when he was arrested and charged with first-degree murder; he currently awaits trial.
However, he was the one who introduced rap music to his younger brother YNW BSlime, and who inspired him to follow in his footsteps when it comes to music.
Speaking of their parents, it’s known that their mother gave birth to YNW Melly when she was 14 years old – he doesn’t know who his father is, but it’s assumed that YNW BSlime comes from her relationship with another man, since the age difference between the boys is eight years. YNW BSlime was born on 10 April 2007, in Gifford, Florida USA, holds American nationality, and his ethnicity is African-American.
There is nothing known about his father, however, there is a video posted on his Instagram featuring him showing his new haircut (he might be seven or eight years old) and the man who was filming is saying ‘turn toward daddy’, while in the caption YNW BSlime put crying emoji.
YNW BSlime is now a middle school student.

Rose to prominence
When YNW BSlime first started rapping, he was doing it just for fun, and didn’t have any intention of making a career out of it, however, when he began uploading his songs, he realized that people liked his freestyle.
He thought that most of them watched his videos because he’s YNW Melly’s brother, but when he got a pretty good response for his work, he decided to put more energy into his music career. Speaking of his biggest influencers, he said that the number one is his brother, and then Travis Scott and X.
At the time when he began making his music, the whole world was on lockdown because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and YNW BSlime wrote and made music in his room, since the studios were closed.
As mentioned, YNW BSlime released his debut single “Hot Sauce” in 2019, and the official music video for this song was uploaded onto his self-titled YouTube channel gaining over six million views.
He was already working on his first album entitled “Baby Goat”, which also debuted in 2019, and YNW BSlime’s album was better received than anyone would expect from someone of his age, since he’d just turned 12.
The album is about his older brother and teenage love dramas, and the top five songs from this album have gained over three million streams on Spotify, Deezer, and Apple Music.
The song “Just Want You” uploaded on 18 September 2019 onto his YouTube channel, has amassed over 20 million views, and over 400,000 likes.
Perhaps the one thing which makes YNW BSlime different is his wish to inspire people who listen to his music, and his lyrics are not just about sex, drugs and guns, as with the other rappers.
People also liked his collaboration song “Citi Trends”, done with NLE Choppa, premiered in October 2021, and has amassed over six million views on YouTube.
His newest single “Valenslime”, uploaded on 18 February 2022, is according to his fans another hit. The official music video has been viewed over 500,000 times, and there are over 1,000 comments, most saying that YNW BSlime is even better now than he was.
His voice changed because of puberty, and his fans like how it sounds now.

Talking about his YouTube channel, launched on 8 July 2019, it’s been subscribed to by over 950,000 people, while all of his videos combined have amassed over 125 million views.
YNW BSlime’s Instagram has been followed by over a million people, and he posted over 90 photos and videos, mostly featuring his everyday life.
He is also active on his Twitter account, established in July 2019, which has gained over 8,500 followers.

Despite the fact that he’s a teenager, people talk about his love life, and his fans want to know all about it. YNW BSlime is currently single, and as he said in one interview, he hasn’t had a girlfriend yet, but there is one special that he likes very much.
Many of his fans thought that he talks about the girl from his music video, however, he stated that she is just a friend, refusing to share the name of his love interest.
On his social media platforms, there’s no photo featuring him and any girl with whom he might be romantically linked, so it seems that YNW BSlime’s decided to keep his love life secret.
