Sydel began her volleyball career when she was in high school and played for Carolina Union Volleyball Club. She also played in college championships when she joined Elon University. Unfortunately, Curry was forced to end her career after she was involved in an accident in mid-2017, that left her with a broken knee.
Curry opened her YouTube Channel, A Curry Girl, on 15 July 2017 and has so far garnered over 100,000 subscribers. Sydel is seemingly happily married to Damion Lee, who plays for the NBA team Phoenix Suns. Damion was born on 21 October 1992, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Michelle Riddick and Dean Lee. He attended Calvert Hall College High, and played basketball for the school’s team. He transferred to the Oakdale-based St Thomas More High School, where he played in the 2010-2011 season, and led his school team to the National Prep School Championship. He was thereafter enrolled at Drexel University in 2011, joined the Drexel Dragons Basketball team, and averaged 4.4 rebounds and 12 points in the 2011-12 season, which saw him crowned the Rookie of the Year by the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA).
