Who is Nicco Annan?

American actor and dancer Nicco Annan was born in Detroit, Michigan USA, on 7 May 1989, so Taurus is his zodiac sign. He’s appeared in 17 movies and TV series, and is perhaps known best for playing Uncle Clifford, one of the lead characters in the critically acclaimed crime series “P-Valley”, which Katori Hall created, and which also stars J. Alphonse Nicholson and Shannon Thornton. It tells the story of several strippers working at a nightclub, the series has been airing since 2020, and has won seven of its 46 award nominations.

Education and early life

Nicco was raised in Detroit alongside his brother Kellee, by their Ghanaian father and African-American mother; not a lot has been disclosed about Nicco’s parents, because he respects their privacy.

He fell in love with acting at the age of six, and began studying improv and theatre at the age of nine. Nicco attended Cass Technical High School and was a member of its drama club, appearing in nearly all the plays performed there.

Nicco’s since appeared in only two movies. He starred as Uncle Alan in the 2018 short family drama “Little Cousin”, and the year 2019 saw him play the main character Eric in the short drama “The Witching Hour”, directed by Shawnette Heard, and which also starred Martin Dorsla and Kate Krieger; it follows a man as he’s fighting a group of witches.

Roles in TV series

Nicco’s debut TV series role was playing Bad Guy in the 2014 episode “REAL WATCH DOGS HACKS!” of the comedy “Smosh”, and the same year also saw him play James Windsor in three episodes of the comedy “Half Sisters”, which starred Christina Wren, Catherine van der Rijt and Sabrina Texidor, and follows three women who at their father’s funeral, have just discovered that they’re half-sisters.

In 2016, Nicco appeared in the episode “Give In” of the romantic drama “Cheetah in August”, and was then cast to play Deacon Cook in two episodes (2018) of the hit comedy “Shameless”, which John Wells and Paul Abbott created, and which starred Ethan Cutkosky, William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum. It follows the lives of members of a Chicago family, the series aired from 2011 through 2021, and won 20 of its 89 award nominations.

Also in 2018, Nicco appeared in an episode of both the romantic comedy “This Is Us” and the crime drama “Snowfall”.

In 2018 and 2019, he played Nico in the crime comedy “Claws”, created by Eliot Laurence, and which starred Niecy Nash, Carrie Preston and Judy Reyes. It follows five women as they’re working at a nail salon in Florida, the series aired from 2017 through 2022, and won four of its 13 award nominations.

Most recently, in 2021, Nicco played Barron in the episode “Remember When M’Dear Stole the Show?” of the comedy “Family Reunion”; he’s currently shooting for the upcoming series “Served”.

Other credits

Nicco worked as a choreographer on the 2018 romantic comedy series “This Is Us”, and the 2022 short drama movie “The Old Saturday”.

Nicco avoids speaking about his love life in public, but has stated on many occasions that he’s gay. He hasn’t disclosed the names of any men whom he’s perhaps been with, but his fans believe that he’s today in a relationship with a non-celebrity American male, as they’ve claimed to have seen the two spending time together on multiple occasions. Nicco hasn’t addressed these rumors, nor has any evidence been provided to support them.

There are also those who believe that even though he’s revealed that he’s gay, Nicco’s currently focused on his career, and isn’t pursuing love.

He seems to be unattached as of February 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
