Who is Mike Stud?

American hip hop artist Michael Francis ‘Mike’ Seander was born in Cranston, Rhode Island USA, on 30 October 1988, meaning that his zodiac sign is Scorpio. Known by his stage names Mike and Mike Stud, he began attracting attention when he released his hit single “College Humor”, which has been watched over 2.6 million times since it was uploaded onto YouTube on 29 December 2010; the song was recorded on the digital audio workstation GarageBand.

Education and early life

Mike was raised alongside his older sister in Cranston, by their father Michael Francis Seander, Sr. and mother Mary Connolly; Mike hasn’t shared a lot about his parents, as he values their privacy, but it’s widely believed that his father was a doctor, and his mother a housewife.

He was mostly interested in sports while growing up, and excelled in both basketball and baseball while attending St. Raphael Academy in Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Mike matriculated in 2006, and was in the same year named Rhode Island’s baseball Gatorade Player of the Year. He was thus awarded an athletic scholarship to Duke University, where he continued playing both sports, but focused on baseball; during his final year at Duke, Mike was named both Louisville Slugger Player of the Year and Gatorade Player of the Year. He transferred to Georgetown University in 2009, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in sports management in the following year.

Playing baseball

Mike was teammates with famous American professional baseball pitcher Marcus Earl Stroman while attending Duke, and the two men are today still best friends.

In 2007, Mike began playing for the Newport Gulls of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), but in the following year suffered an elbow injury which required the Tommy John surgery; he had to miss the 2009 season when in recovery, and then played for the Hoyas upon transferring to Georgetown University.

Mike began making music while recovering from surgery, and chose it over baseball following graduation.

Hip hop career

Mike’s revealed that his hit song “College Humor”, which was also his debut single, was only meant to be a joke made for his baseball teammates; after it had become quite popular on the internet, he went on to release his second single “In This Life”, recorded in collaboration with famous American singer-songwriter and TV personality Alexander Robert ‘Alex’ Lagemann.

Both songs were featured on Mike’s debut mixtape “A Toast to Tommy”, which came out in October 2011, and his second mixtape “Click” followed in August 2012, which he’d recorded in collaboration with American hip hop musician Huey Mack.

Mike’s debut album “Relief” was released on 13 May 2013, followed by his second album “Closer” on 7 July 2014. His mini-album “This Isn’t the Album” came out on 30 October 2015, comprising eight songs, while his third album, “These Days” followed on 12 January 2016, and featured his friend Marcus Stroman.

In June 2016, Mike began starring in the reality show “This Is Mike Stud”, which follows him and his crew during their Back2You Tour. He then featured in the Bea Miller’s song “To the Grave”, which could have been found on her 2017 extended play “Chapter Three: Yellow”, as well as on her second album “Aurora”.

Mike’s fourth album “4TheHomies” was released on 12 November 2018, comprising 23 songs and featuring Goody Grace and Vory; this is Mike’s favorite album, as he’s revealed that he spent two years working on it, and that every song was created in his home. Following the album’s release, he embarked on his Final Mike Stud Tour, which made most of his fans believe that he was to retire following the tour’s conclusion, however, he revealed that he wasn’t done with hip hop, and has since released two albums: “Uhyuready?” in 2019 and “The Highs.” in 2021.

Mike launched his eponymous YouTube channel on 19 November 2010, and there are over 370,000 people subscribed to it today, while it numbers more than 160 million views of all his videos combined, most of which are either his original songs or episodes of his show “YNK Podcast” – we’re going to mention three of the most popular amongst these.

Mike’s #1 video “Mike Stud – These Days (feat Marcus Stroman)” has been viewed close to 40 million times since 9 January 2016, and it’s his original song.

His video #2  is “Mike Stud – Swish”, watched over 16 million times since 22 January 2016, and is also his original song.

Mike’s video #3 is “Mike Stud – Brightside”, viewed close to eight million times since 27 November 2015, and is one of his personal favorites.

Love life and girlfriend

Mike’s more or less open when it comes to talking about his love life, and it’s widely known that he was in a relationship with Josie Marie Canseco, whom he began dating in November 2015, after the two had been introduced by a mutual friend at a party; Josie could then have been seen keeping Mike company during his US tours, while it’s believed that he wrote several songs for her. Josie’s a popular American model who’s currently signed to Elite Models, and is also a social media star, with today over 1.2 million people following her on the social media network.

Mike and Josie broke up for unknown reasons in 2019, and he hasn’t spoken about any girls whom he’s since been with; Mike thus seems to be unattached as of November 2022, hasn’t married, and doesn’t have children.

Mike’s quite active on Instagram, and there are over 400,000 people following him on the social media network today, while he’s posted nearly 700 pictures and videos onto his account, most of which show him during his everyday life.

Even though most of Mike’s fans believe that he loves partying in clubs, he’s revealed that he prefers spending his spare time in nature, especially close to rivers and in forests.

He likes to watch sports with his friends, with baseball still being his favorite.

Mark’s also an avid dancer, and took dancing lessons as a teenager.

His favorite actors are Al Pacino and Heath Ledger, and some of his favorite movies include “Paterno”, “Hangman”, and “Danny Collins”.
