Early life and education
Kevin was born into a family of Irish and Scottish descent, and grew up in his hometown of Kincardine, where he received his primary education. Kevin’s interest in acting started during his freshman year in high school, after he mistakenly entered a 12th grade theatre class. This ‘happy accident’ led him to join the school’s drama club, and he started appearing in local productions of plays.

Kevin made his film debut in 2006, with a role in the short drama “Rock and a Hard Place”. Kevin’s first major film role came in 2010, when he appeared in the horror blockbuster “Saw: The Final Chapter”, the seventh installment in the highly-successful “Saw” movie franchise.
After taking a five-year-long break from acting between 2010 and 2015, Kevin made his comeback with a recurring role in the medical drama series “Open Heart”. Next in 2016 until 2021, he landed a recurring role on the Canadian soap-opera “Heartland”, which aired on CBC, playing the character Mitch Cutty, a charming and compassionate veterinarian who becomes a love interest for one of the show’s main characters, Amy Fleming (played by Amber Marshall).
