Who is Jay Glazer?

American sports reporter, TV personality and actor Jason Charles ‘Jay’ Glazer was born in Manalapan Township, New Jersey USA, on 26 December 1969, meaning that his zodiac sign’s Capricorn. He’s probably known best for the work which he’s done for the Fox Sports pre-game studio show “FOX NFL Sunday”, in which he reports on all the news in the National Football League (NFL).

Education and early life

Jay was raised in Manalapan Township by his Jewish parents Irene and Edward A. Glazer; not a lot has been disclosed about them, because Jay respects their privacy, but it’s believed that his mother was a housewife, and his father a pilot. Jay hasn’t mentioned having siblings, but it’s believed that he has a 10 years younger sister.

He became interested in sports while attending Manalapan High School, and was on his school’s football team, but when Jay was 17 he suffered an injury, and so chose to pursue a career as a sports journalist.

He matriculated in 1988 and then enrolled at Pace University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in mass media in 1992.

Career as a journalist

Jay launched his career straight out of college, when he began working for the newspaper “New York Post” as their columnist, but he failed to attract any attention in the following 12 years, until he began working for Fox Sports in 2004.

In 2005, he hosted the show “Pride Fighting Championships”, which was the first Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) show in the US. Following this, Jay focused on reporting strictly on NFL, and attracted attention in 2014 when he, American former professional Football Player Brian Urlacher. and American volleyball player Lindsay Napela Berg opened the Unbreakable Performance Center in Los Angeles, California. Many successful athletes, actors and singers have since worked out at the gym, including famous American actor and moviemaker Sylvester Stallone, American actor Christopher Michael Pratt, and American singer-songwriter and actress Demetria Devonne ‘Demi’ Lovato.

The year 2015 saw Jay and Nate Boyer launch the non-profit organization Merging Vets & Players, which aims to match up former war veterans and retired athletes; the same year Jay also hosted the show “Wicked Tuna” for National Geographic.

Jay’s also a martial artist, and it’s believed that more than 1,000 people have used his martial arts training program.

He’s today working at Fox Sports, while he also signed a contract with Bellator MMA and Paramount Network in January 2018.

Acting credits

Jay’s also a bit of an actor, with eight credits to his name. His debut film role was his portrayal of Sportswriter in the popular 2005 crime sports comedy “The Longest Yard”, which Peter Segal directed, and which starred Chris Rock, Burt Reynolds and Adam Sandler. It follows a group of inmates who’ve formed a football team wanting to challenge the guards, and the movie won three of its 20 award nominations.

Jay could then have been seen playing Hack Pack in the 2007 family sports comedy movie “The Game Plan”, which starred Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and he appeared in the 2014 episode “Tefl-Andre” of the sports comedy series “The League”. In 2017, he portrayed Dave Hines in the episode “The Price for the Past” of the crime comedy series “Bones”, and from 2015 through 2019, Jay played himself in 15 episodes of the popular sports comedy series “Ballers”, which Stephen Levinson created, and which starred Donovan W. Carter, John David Washington and Dwayne Johnson. It follows the lives of a group of Football Players and their families, and the series won one of its 38 award nominations.

Most recently, in 2022, Jay portrayed a supporting character in the drama “MVP”, written and directed by Nate Boyer, who also starred in it alongside Mo McRae and Dina Shihabi. It follows a recently retired Football Player who’s been saved from a scandal by a homeless war veteran, and the two men have now bonded.

Jay’s also recently competed in the game-show “Guy’s Ultimate Game Night”, which features celebrities as they’re competing in trivia related to food.

Love life and wife

Only a little is known about Jay’s love life, because he prefers to keep these details to himself.

It’s widely known that he was a married man, to non-celebrity American woman Michelle Graci on 25 June 2006, in a small and private ceremony attended by less than 150 of their family members and friends. Michelle keeps away from media, but it’s known that she was once a successful model, and was crowned Miss New Jersey in 2000.

She gave birth to their daughter Lucy Glazer in either 2007 or 2008, and the two also have an adoptive son Samuel, born in 2003.

Jay and Michelle divorced on 28 January 2008, but it’s believed that they reconciled in 2010 and were together for five more years, however, this hasn’t been confirmed.

Jay hasn’t spoken of other women whom he’s been with, and he seems to be unattached as of December 2022, was once married to Michelle Graci, and has two children with her (one adopted).

One can say that Jay’s an Instagram star, as there are today close to 230,000 people following him on the social media network, while he’s posted over 2,600 pictures and videos. He’s even more popular on Twitter, with his more than 1.2 million followers, and over 21,000 tweets; Jay launched his account in July 2009, meaning that he’s since tweeted on average four times a day.

He works out at the gym every day, and enjoys teaching his fans proper workout routines and diet plans.

Jay loves to travel, and has been to all the US states, for both work and pleasure; he also often travels overseas, and his favorite city to travel to is London, England.

His favorite actors are Arnold Schwarzenegger and Vin Diesel, and some of his favorite movies include “Sabotage”, “Collateral Damage” and “The 6th Day”.
