She’s an actress, film producer and composer, with more than 50 acting credits to her name, perhaps known best for her portrayal of Charlie, one of the lead characters in the 2018 action science fiction adventure movie “Bumblebee”, directed by Travis Knight, and which also starred Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and John Cena. She gained recognition in 2010, when cast to play Mattie Ross, one of the main characters in the critically acclaimed western movie “True Grit”, written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, and which also starred Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon. It follows a teenager who’s ‘hired’ a US Marshal to help her catch her father’s killer; the movie won 38 of the 217 awards for which it was nominated, including 10 Oscar nominations.
A couple of Hailee’s following notable performances were in the romantic movie “Hateship Loveship”, the hit musical comedy film “Begin Again”, and the romantic movie “Romeo and Juliet”, all released in 2013.
