Geraldine is an Australian actress, probably best known to the world as Kayla in the film “Blockers” (2018), and for her roles in the anthology comedy series “Miracle Workers” (2019-2021), and as Hala in the film of the same name in 2019, among other roles in her career.

Geraldine Viswanathan was born on 20 June 1995 in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, a daughter of an Indian father of Tamil ancestry, Suresh who’s a doctor specializing in nuclear medicine, and a Swiss mother, Anja Raith, an actress and acting coach.

She has a younger sister Indira, and during their childhood, the girls were interested in horse riding, and had an overall love for animals. Geraldine went to Hunter School of the Performing Arts, and was a member of the drama class.

When she was 15 years old, the family moved to Los Angeles in hopes Geraldine would get a contract with a manager, and strike a deal with Disney or Nickelodeon.

The following year, she was Jamali in the award-winning coming-of-age teen comedy musical “Emo the Musical”, a film which centers around a young boy who finds love in a Christian girl named Trinity, starring Benson Jack Anthony, Jordan Hare and Rahart Adams.

Geraldine had a breakthrough year in 2018 – first, she was one of the girls, Kayla, in the coming-of-age teen comedy-drama film “Blockers”, which revolves around parents and their children as they try everything to stop them from losing their virginity on their prom night. The film also stars Kathryn Newton, Gideon Adlon, John Cena, Ike Barinholtz and Leslie Mann.

Although she didn’t take any award home from the film, she was widely praised for her work, and, the same year, starred as Becky Abelar in the award-winning thriller-comedy film “The Package”, alongside Daniel Doheny and Sadie Calvano.

She continued her career very successfully; she was announced as one of the co-stars in the TV comedy series “Miracle Workers” alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi. The first season of the anthology comedy series premiered on 12 February 2019, and Geraldine portrayed Eliza Hunter, one of God’s angels responsible for accomplishing miracles on earth alongside Craig, portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe.

The second season of the series premiered in January 2020, entitled “Dark Ages”, in which Geraldine portrays Alexandra ‘Al’ Shitshoveler, who inherits her father’s job but quickly switches to work at the medical center.

The third and latest season to date, entitled “Oregon Trail”, premiered on 13 July 2021, with Geraldine portraying the character Prudence Aberdeen; it deals with the migration of new Americans to the west along the Oregon Trail – the Reverend Ezekiel Brown enlists wanted outlaw Benny the Teen as the leader of the migration group.

The fourth season of the series has been ordered, and will be entitled “End Times”, premiering in January 2023. Geraldine is set to return to the series alongside Radcliffe and Buscemi.

Thanks to the popularity of the series, Geraldine emerged as a rising star after the first season of “Miracle Workers”.

The same year, she co-starred in the Primetime Emmy Award-winning biopic “Bad Education” about one of the biggest public school embezzlement scandals in history, while in 2020, Geraldine starred in Natalie Krinsky’s romantic comedy film “The Broken Hearts Gallery”, about a girl who after she experiences a bad breakup, starts a gallery in which people can leave trinkets and memories from their past relationships.

In 2021, she was the lead character in the comedy-drama film “7 Days”, next to Karan Soni, her “Miracle Worker” co-star. The same year, she appeared in the TV series “Saturday Morning All Star Hits!”, while in 2022, she was named the Narrator of the comedy series “Three Busy Debras”, about three housewives who live in a wealthy suburban neighborhood in Connecticut, that exists outside reality for the rest of the world.
