Adriyan Rae is an American actress and medical laboratory scientist, probably best known to the world as Elida in the TV series “Vagrant Queen” (2020), and as Gianna Mackey in the TV series “Chicago Fire” (2020-2021) among several other notable roles.

Adriyan Rae was born on 7 October 1987, in Seaford, Delaware, USA. She was raised by her mother, Christina Rae, and is of African, Venezuelan, Native American and German ancestry. After high school, Adriyan, enrolled at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, from which she obtained a degree in physician assistant and received a professional certification in medical laboratory science.
Career Beginnings
After finishing her studies and becoming a certified, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she realized her love for acting. In 2015, Adriyan made her acting debut as Megan Brown in the television comedy movie “Life Twirls On”, which starred Kenya Moore, Leon, and Brandon DeShazer. The same year, Adriyan made several other appearances, including roles in the TV series “Love Crimes”, with Nia Witts, Eason Hills and Jody Ray Vahn in the lead roles, and the long-running crime-documentary series “Fatal Attraction”, which stars Malikha Mallette.

The following year, she appeared in Gerard McMurray’s film “Burning Sands”, with Trevor Jackson, Tosin Cole and Deron Horton in the lead roles. Moreover, she was Candice in Gregory Bankston’s crime-drama film “Good Streets”, starring Kenneth Bowen, DuRa Brown, and John Emil D’Angelo.
Next, in 2018 she secured quite a few notable roles. First as Tammi in Lee Daniels’s music-drama series “Star”, about three women who start a music group in Atlanta, with Jude Demorest, Brittany O’Grady and Ryan Destiny as the main stars of the critically-acclaimed series.
Then, she played the character named Candice again, but this time in the action-thriller film “SuperFly” directed by Director X, who primarily directs music videos in the rapper community, and starring Trevor Jackson, Jason Mitchell, and Lex Scott Davis.

However, Adriyan left the show after only nine episodes, but didn’t state the reason behind her decision. According to the series’ showrunner, Derek Haas, Adriyan came to him with some personal reasons and said that she needed to leave the show.
She continued quite nicely after this, as she’s one of the stars in Leon Pierce Jr.’s comedy-drama film “Welcome Matt”, about a man, a successful author, who suddenly becomes afraid to go outside, but embarks on a new adventure, as he decides to write, direct and star in a feature film and all that from the comfort of his house, with Tahj Mowry, GG Townson and Jazsmin Lewis as the main stars of the film.
To speak further of her career, Adriyan starred in the award-winning TV romantic comedy series “The Game”, co-starring Analisa Velez, Wendy Raquel Robinson and Hosea Chanchez, following the story of African-Americans and their social issues involving racism, sexism and classism, fighting for fortune, respect and love, all through the prism of American Football.
