The American actor and former professional baseball player, Stephen Bishop, has appeared in over 50 TV shows and films, and is perhaps best known for his performance in the biographical sports movie “Moneyball.”

Stephen C. Bishop hails from Chicago, Illinois USA, and was born under the Virgo zodiac sign on 14 September 1971, which makes him 51 years old as of 2022. He has remained tight-lipped about his parents’ names – however, it’s widely known that his mother was a model, and his father was an American Football star. He developed an interest in baseball and football after his family relocated to Northern California.
Bishop attended Campolindo High, and was highly active in sports. He won a scholarship to the Riverside-based University of California, where he joined their Highlanders baseball team – he participated in the College World Series competitions. Bishop graduated with a bachelor’s in 1993.

Career
Baseball Career
After he graduated, Bishop signed a contract with the Atlanta Braves baseball team, which saw him playing in Pioneer Baseball League for year. He later joined Sioux Falls Canaries, and competed in Northern League before he transferred to the Minor League team, St. Paul Saints. 1996 saw Stephen joining High Desert Mavericks and finally the Baltimore Orioles before he retired to focus on his acting career.
Film Appearances
Bishop landed his first film role as Tyrell in the 2003 family drama “Pitcher and Pin-Up”, and his praised performance saw him next cast as Knappmiller in the well-received Peter Berg-directed action-comedy “The Rundown” in the same year, sharing the screen with Dwayne Johnson, Christopher Walken and Seann William Scott. He appeared in three more films between 2004 – 2006, before he landed the role of ER Doctor in the acclaimed film “Hancock,” which starred Will Smith, Jason Bateman and Charlize Theron in 2008.
Bishop appeared in several hit films in the 2010s; he played Derrick in the Ben Affleck-directed Washington D.C. Area Film Critics Association Award-winning crime thriller “The Town” in 2010. He later shared the screen with Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds and Brendan Gleeson in the 2012 thriller “Safe House” before he appeared in the sci-fi film “Battleship.” Recently, Bishop appeared in the Peter Sullivan-directed 2020 psychological thriller “Fatal Affair.”
TV Appearances
Bishop made his TV debut as Alex Mendoza in the 2004 comedy “Girlfriends”, and before the decade ended, he appeared in an episode or two of six shows, which included “The Game,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “CSI: Miami.” Bishop then played the starring role of David Paulk in Mara Brock Akil’s NAACP Image Award-winning romantic drama, “Being Mary Jane” (2013-2015), and shared the screen with Raven Goodwin, Lisa Vidal and Gabrielle Union. He was later cast as Patrick Campbell – and other characters – in the crime drama “Imposters,” which aired on Bravo between February 2017 and June 2018. From 2018 to 2020, he played Andrew Mendoza in the acclaimed CBS and AXN mystery “Criminal Minds.”
Bishop’s recent roles are in the sci-fi “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” in which he played Major Brandon Gamble in 2020. He next portrayed Powell in three episodes of Leigh Davenport’s comedy “Run the World” in 2021, and also played Richard Fontana in the Amazon Prime Video action-thriller “The Terminal List,” starring Chriss Pratt, Constance Wu and Taylor Kitsch.

Stephen’s works in the 2012 short documentary film, “Billy Beane: Re-Inventing the Game” saw him receiving special thanks.

Stephen is dating his long-term girlfriend, the “Solver” starlet Jesiree Dizon, who is also famously known for appearing in the Fox sitcoms, “Grandfathered,” “True Blood” and “Doll Face.” Jesiree doubles up as a fashion model who has posed for several companies, including Sears, Target and Fabletics.
